Default Equipment violation for out of state vehicles?

If you get written up for not having a front plate (CVC 5200), but have plates from another state where they only issue one plate...

How do you get that signed off?

(or what to do??)

Contact the concerned court and it should be dismissed.

It happened to me. I called the station the next day and spoke with the senior Sargent. They wrote an apology letter and tossed the ticket.

There is a catch though - your resident and DL status needs to match your out of state plates (if a CA resident, the first question they will ask is why you have out of state plates)
