Last renewal pictures were asked for. No big deal in today's times. Especially with their snazzy new application portal.

As Citadelgrad said, it seems like they're asking for things that are pretty easy to provide. If they're just asking for dates and documents, it seems like they're just trying to protect themselves against regulators and auditors who might scrutinize their application process. Nothing to worry about for us citizens.

co-worker just received his CCW in 14 days after completing the interview and submitting livescan that afternoon...

Meanwhile my interview was 30 minutes before his, livescan done at the same place 15 minutes before him. Nearly identical good cause statement and I'm at the "processing' stage 20 days later.

My renewal timeline:

Submitted Jan. 7
License Received: Jan. 28

3 weeks total. But ...

It took me 2 weeks to schedule and submit my firearm qualification. Had I already had the firearm certificates with the original application, the whole thing would have been processed in a week, possibly less...

This is a whole lot different from renewal 2 years ago. Really great work from OCSD.

I posted my timeline somewhere, but i submitted the firet week in January for a March 20 expiry date.

I submitted an entire packet with renewal class cert and new firearms on my license

About 10 days later i got a basic request for more documentation, and i responded within 24 hours.

This week i got several emails and even a robocall voicemail telling me to come pick it up, but the last email said come after March 3.

I am very saisfied with the present system and time line.

So this was a bit weird.. is this something new they want? This wasn't requested when I renewed 2 years ago.

Please do not respond to this email as this address is not monitored.

Your application for a carry concealed weapon license cannot be processed without additional information.

Sir,

Do you have a current paystub or 1099/w2. Also, you will need to go onto the DMV website and change your address on your CDL. The transaction receipt will show proof of corrected address. Please send in these docuements to assist in getting your renewal application completed and approved.

OCSD CCW Team

Once we receive the above-requested information, we will resume with the processing of your application.

You can upload requested documents using the Order Tracker: https://ocsd.permitium.com/order_tracker

My company doesn't do pay stubs anymore, so I sent my W2, which I try to avoid since it's a lot of personal info, but I guess I can trust the OCSD.

My address is changed with the DMV so I sent the little card I keep with my CDL.. they weren't clear if they just needed it changed or if it had to be physically on the CDL. I would have thought they could tell the DMV had my current address.

So far my renewal has been in process 2 months.. The OCSD is great to work with, this is just something new.. FYI

They appear to be asking for documentation to paper the files.

My wild guess is, they anticipate a state audit and want to have something to show if and when that happens.

So far, everything they have asked for that i am aware of has been things like my dad’s Dd214, my bar card, photos of camping, things that are no problem to produce as long as the good cause is accurate.

Edit, ive had two prior ccws, neither the app nor the firet renewal asked for this, but this time around they did.

Why do the need/want your Dad's DD214?
It is your CCW isn't it?

I believe they have been using the W2 to verify employment when no paystub is available, it will have the companies name on it and “show” employment.

And regarding, the license, they usually want the current address on it. Things are evolving there. Not sure why you didn’t get same issue if your address is different.

I could be wrong. My wife says I am often

I wonder if OCSD will make this sanctuary county to uphold the 2nd Amendment.

Ok, this is weird..

On 3/6 I got an email saying they received my additional info (W2/DMV deal) and are processing.

But looking at the bank statement I see my permit fee was refunded on 3/4.. what?

I've sent an email to the permit dept since you can't call.. nothing in terms of my good cause, address, or anything has changed in the last two years.

I thought the refund before the "we have your info and are processing" was weird.

Thoughts?

And, since I posted that meant I got an email right after.. lol

Mr. XXX,

Unfortunately, we are not taking payment from credit cards/debit cards so we refunded your payment. Payment is required on the day of your license issuance. You can either bring a check or money order for $80.00.

Thank you
CCW Unit
Weird that the company they use to now digitally submit the application asked for the payment.

So, false alarm on the weird emails

I got an email saying not to try to use the online payment. Paper check at pickup.

I couldn't get their website to let me proceed with the process until I paid, then it was refunded later to my CC. Picked up today $80 check in hand.

Submitted renewal on 3/22 (expires in June). Status remains at assigning to processor shortly. Haven't completed CCW firearm training since I am waiting to hear back from OCSD. Seems like I should have heard something by now?

Proceed with training. Your application is not complete without it.
