Do we have a picture of the completed logo? Or is it basically a copy of the logo at the top of the screen?

I'm always in for another lower. What I'm certain would make this fly for many would be a couple ffl's willing to support the buy by allowing the lowers to ship in and doing the transfer at a pre-negotiated price (perhaps $35 including dros) comparable to ppt fees.

Maybe an FFL in Sacramento, San Fran, San Jose, etc.
If anyone has pull to arrange something like that it may go a long way to increasing interest (and getting new customers into those ffl's)

In many locations, quality lowers are avail local for $100 so paying the shipping on one from out of area then $75 or even $50 in additional fees to the ffl quickly doubles the cost.

The are several ffl's throughout the state that are involved on this forum, I'd like to see a couple join the cause. Maybe MetalDog Tactical in San Jose, one of Sacramento's multiple black rifle shops, etc.

I think they are using the Calguns Foundation logo, not the .net logo

Take care,

From what I heard there are 3 different logos to choose from. CGF, the CGN logo at top, then the calguns California bear flag logo.

The Calguns logo or California Bear logo is still not out of the question either, but being able to use the CGF logo would be a great also.

Addax will most likely choose one logo and that will be it. If they have to offer multiple logos their cost will go up. I suspect when they got the approval for the Foundation logo, that locked that one up. Especially since the spirit of the group buy is to donate money to the Foundation.

Take care,
Dave

The CGF logo will be the one used. If you want something different, Addax has stated that they will custom engrave the lower for you at an additional cost.

The initial idea was to look at one of three logos: Calguns.net logo, California Bear, or CGF.

We received a lot of requests for the CGF logo, and we are currently having to work on the CGF logo so that it can be machine engraved on the lower receiver during production. When we have finalized a variation of the CGF logo for the lower receiver, we will post it in this thread.

Thanks,
AT

Yes, a variation of the CGF logo will be used. We are currently working on a variation of the CGF logo that will make it much easier for us to machine engrave it on to the lower receiver.

We will laser engrave a custom logo on the right side of the receiver (post production) for those members who want to personalize their lower receiver for an additional fee, but this will be discounted for the Group Buy members.

Thanks,
AT

Okay, I'll consider with the CGF logo. Can someone PM me with the details: cost, FLLs lined up so I can see how the transfer will be done, etc. Thanks.

This is an old post, but I think it may still be useful assuming the store is still open. Big thanks to Jicko for this post. I'm finding it quite useful. List has FFL's and their transfer fees, etc...

The logo we are using is the one with the torch and cross swords. That's the 'official' CG Foundation logo that we have approval to use.

Also, sorry for the delay in my updating of the list. I was out of town for labor day weekend. The list of interested parties has been updated.

HOLY S4!T!!! We have 94 intersted members!!!

I can't wait for this to happen. Hopefully in about 2 weeks now we should have the group buy officially started with the final design of the lower for review.

This really will be a HUGE donation to Calguns! Thanks again for everyone's responses. You'll get a PM directly with all of the details as soon as there additional information is available.

Thanks so much to everyone that has PM'd so far!

If multiple lowers are order will the serial numbers be consecutive or will that have to be a request?

I have used Kevin Smith before, last year, He charged $35 + $10 for the state. Damn reasonable if you ask me. He only operates 3 days a week, so the 10 days ends up being longer, but for a slow build like this will be for me, I'm not sweating a few extra days.

Hi boys and girls!
Wanted to drop an update in here. Talked to Addax today and we're still on track.

We have over 100 interested members. That means that even if half back out of the actual buy, this will be a success and a significant donation to CGF. So I'm pretty stoked.

I don't know about you guys but I can't wait to see the sample lower for this buy!

I'll keep the updates coming as soon as I get them.

Yep, that's what I need too. I'm in for several and have several friends who will be joining the buy as well (they're not CGN members so they aren't on the list)

I've posted the list of all FFLs that have been brought to our attention willing to help out.

Please see list on the first page of this thread that includes all of the participants in the group buy. Below that list is the list of FFLs in the same post.

I'm adding FFLs as people provide them.
Thanks.

I have used Kevin Smith before, last year, He charged $35 + $10 for the state. Damn reasonable if you ask me. He only operates 3 days a week, so the 10 days ends up being longer, but for a slow build like this will be for me, I'm not sweating a few extra days.
