The Service and Tactical models use the same frame, but Springfield does not sell slides and barrels as separate components. It would be cool if they did, though.

I should have put these in THIS thread:

XD-9 Tactical OD, Bar-sto barrel, nite sites, grip reduction -- I had an XD-45 but just didn't fit -- my first choice has never been 9mm but the XD points perfectly for me. I love this gun!

Anyone have one with the thumb safety?

Bar-sto did grip reduction, new sights, match barrel and extended mag release (which I hadn't asked for)

I humbly submit my XD45

I'd really like to add the TLR1 to it, but can't find a holster for that

Try this Blade-Tech link.

One of the options is a XD45 4" with a TLR2, and another is the XD45 5" with a TLR1. If they can do both of those, I'm sure they could make you one for an XD45 4" with a TLR1.

Their other holsters for guns with lights can be found here.

My trio

Bottom two are my XD9 Tactical competition guns. The top is my new XD45 Tactical for home defense and occasional use in IDPA CDP division. I figured that it would be good to have a home defense gun with a similar feel and operation to the competition guns that I put 5,000 rounds a year through.

Here is my XD .45 with 5 inch tactical barrel. I have had her for about a year now and had no problems. Put over a thousand rounds down range in one day and had no jams or misfires. Though I did punch the barrel every 200 rounds no other maintenance. She passed my tests.

I like that "zombie camo"! Here's a few of mine that will get some camo at some point.

A couple of XD45's duracoated in "Magpul FDE" (XD45-Tactical up front):

A comparison between two XD45-Compacts:

Any thoughts about the XD 45 in GAP. I have one, but considering selling it to buy an 45 ACP, any thoughts? The only reason I'm keeping it for now, is it fits really well in my hands and shoots well, except GAP rounds are hard to come by. Thanks for your input.
