Default Let's see some 1911 pics

Ok, I see a lot of discussion on 1911's so let's see some!
This is a homebuilt on a SS Safari Arms frame with a bunch of extras (like some 20 yr old, 11 round magazines)

My Springfield GI. I have to say, the "US" grip are lame. They've been replaced by GI grips

Speaking of comps, what's it take to make this legal to put on a pistol?
I didn't want to register any 45 with the state so I just removed it.

Keep in mind that the law says (more or less) "capacity to accept a threaded barrel capable to accept a flash suppresor, etc" There is no law against having a muzzle device on your handgun, assuming it is either permanently attached or connected via other means besides threading (I've seen some very cool methods, some of them being quick detach and very nice). So if it's threaded on, just get it silver soldered on and you are fine. The great thing about 1911s is the barrel slides in from the font chamber first, so you can have a three foot wide five foot long muzzle device on it and you can still install it in your slide without problems/modification.

If you really want it, just permanently attach it.

Default Swenson 45 (Gardena)

Swenson 45's. MK. IV 70 series and Combat Commander 70. These were done for me when Swenson was still in Gardena. Each pistol was a 2 year wait. Over the years the Mk IV was modified with Ariscocrate Sights and Accurail.

I replaced mine with a set of lacewood grips that I made. It took me less than an hour to do everything but the finish.

Chief, i'm willing to bet Neo used a remote setup for his camera, and that he has his pistol in condition 1.

Oh, and nice 1911's

The gun was loaded with safety on. I don't drop the hammer on my 1911s, at least not in the house; I'm too afraid of slipping or not holding it right and letting the gun discharge. Safeties are on at all times. And just so you know, my face was no where near the camera when I took the picture. It actually took me about 15 pictures to get that one, and it still didn't come out right, but it was good enough to see the hollow point so it got the job done.

As for barrel lenth, yeah it's a short bugger. The barrel is something like 3" and the entire thing is done in black with tritium night sights. It also holds 10 rounds of .45 so it's a nice late night buddy.

I figured it was condition 1 (like mine is) and probably figured you used a remote setup. I just felt the need to give you a little crap

I very recently acquired my first pistol so I'm still excited about it:

Haven't done much to it so far, but my first major task will be to bob the hammer and then smooth off the grip safety spur a bit, it's been biting me. Other than that I'm pleased with it.

I couldn't think of anything else to prop up the pistol for the pic so the knife is a Spyderco Adventura; it was given to me by someone I respect quite a bit so its become one of my prized possesions, and its been a great knife. (Spyderco should pay me the way I praise them...)
