Great idea for a picture thread, unfortunately I don't have any pics of the ones I've handled to contribute.

Most of them weren't much to see..

a Davis Derringer made mostly out of pot metal., it was cheap but it functioned fine, unless you count accuracy as a function.

A Jennings J 22 that worked for the first thousand rounds. Then things started to go wrong. Still at less than $90 dollars way back then, I think people got their moneys worth.

a Rolm RG 23, another pot mostly metal gun, a revolver that some experts claim actually gave us the term "Saturday night special".
It also worked fine once I fixed the broken firing pin.

The one that I did like was the Astra M 200/fire cat, like you have in your collection. I think this one was in 25 ACP, so it was pricey to shoot compared to 22 rimfire.
But at least this one was made out of real steel and made with a little bit of craftsmanship/care.
I can see why Colt went to Astra to make their imported (and then relabeled as Colts) mouse guns way back when.

Although I read somewhere that Astra was already so closely copying Colts design, yet because Astra was in Spain, Colt had limited powers to enforce their name/copyrights.
So Colt thought if you can't beat them ... have them join you.

I'd like to get another Astra mini mouse gun again but in .22 Long rifle caliber. I wouldn't care what the finish looks or how ugly it was, As long as it functions.
I'd want to shoot it, not something for a collection but only if I can find one at a good price.

Typically a mouse gun is often described as a pocketgun chambered in .22Short, .22LR, .25ACP, or .32ACP.

P226 with #4 shotshells (pest control). Now, only question is how you gonna make that mouse sit still for your to grab your gun, aim, and shoot him?

And you should be able to comfortably tuck it between your left testicle and the change in your pocket, but STILL do the Hokey-Pokey without printing.

Wait...I have a .32 acp. If you really need to see a Colt 1903, I can get the camera.

Issued to officers in WWII, very nice little gun.

To paraphrase an old quote about mouse guns:

"If someone ever shot me with one of those things, and I found out about it, I would be very angry."

Taking this Corona Virus break to revisit parts of my collection I haven't fondled or molested in years. I've sold quite a few over the years, but here are the vestiges from my pocket pistol collecting days. I know the three on the right aren't technically mouse guns by definition, but darned if they aren't small and cute.
