I spoke with Chris and I think he has 5 left to ship, but he is waiting on some more G43 parts kits. They should arrive the end of this week so expect shipping notices Friday or Saturday.

How is everyone making their builds CA legal? I still might try for one if I can figure out how I can make it work.

I don't think that we really can at this point. I'm going to take it to my vacation home to do the finishing and then leave it there.

Hmm.. I wonder if you can build it out of state as a single shot pistol (never started as semi auto), mark it appropriately and then send it to yourself to DROS as a roster exempt single shot pistol... I'd have to think how that isn't legal...or more likely others will probably tell me how that isn't legal...

The answer doesn't help me currently, but may help you...

That actually had never even really crossed my mind, now I might look into it however being in the PRK I don't see it working out. Since this took so long, I acquired a nib g43 from a family friend for a killer deal. So now when this kit arrives it is mainly a novelty at this point which is why I figured I would just finish it in AZ over our thanksgiving getaway and leave her.

In case you're interested in following this thread: https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1482673

Seems of course that it is iffy as RickD has pointed out some penal code that could cause issues.

Interesting.. I wonder if it's because the people doing the SN assignment have no idea about that requirement OR assume you've met it.

Also, I wonder if after some of these folks build and volreg they'll receive a knock on the door having the firearm confiscated. If that does NOT happen then I wonder if that makes the evidence stronger (probably not) that it is indeed legal.

Good point. Maybe they are just the numbers the people assigned on the volreg form.

I still have gotten zero notification of anything. If there were only 5 to ship I somehow must be one of the last ones. Not sure the issue of waiting on more parts kits...that was the whole reason I didn't just do a cc dispute was because I didn't want him to be stuck with the kits, now I'm wondering what's up.

That's a bummer. A bunch of sites have the frame kits and lower parts kits in stock already.

Do you guys plan to build as single shot, then convert to semi auto?

There is a 3.7 metal thing for CA. Are you saying that single shot can by pass that requirement?

That’s what I’ve heard, though can’t confirm if true. I’ve also seen sites selling single shot kits. Not hoping to spread false information, just speculating.

Unless people have a bunch of S/N’s from volreg, not sure how they’ll build a P80 Glock legally now.

No, no engraving. And I don't even plan on finishing it in CA due to all of the hoops we have to jump through. I would have done a dispute months ago had I known my parts kit thats been paid for for 5 months wasn't on hand.

I can see your point about being 5 months and still without kits. I could kind of understand that if h he had gotten all the kits them had to do refund then he would have to eat those kits too.

FYI - The implication in this post:
https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/...&postcount=325

Is that he had a bunch of kits people might be "stuck" with. I actually had one on order and to try and help him out told him to send the whole thing to me to resell out of state. I didn't want him to get "stuck" with my kits. If I knew he was short kits for other customers that didn't cancel I would have had him refund me for the whole parts kit and give it to 4EverPouring3WM instead.

Same.
I emailed last week asking for a status update and was told he'd check. Still nothing.
I highly doubtful I was one of the last 5 to order.

Yeah, I kept my order in place out of consideration of the parts kits situation too.

Everything about this deal has turned rotten.

Same here, nothing. I am pretty sure I was one of the first to order.

I just realized this thread started almost 7 months ago. Nobody is going to post a pic of a finished one?

Difficult to finish seeing as we haven't received them. And not worth the hassle of trying to even finish in CA anymore.
