Rent some mill time, and get all your parts together.

Thumbs up

My AR Pistol partially put together, I still need to purchase a bunch of parts. Going to replace the front sight post with a low profile gas block, mid-length free-float handguard, different PG, gas tube parts, etc.

Going to Dura Coat it after I test fire it.

I filled in the engravings with shoe polish so that it sticks out in the pictures.

To answer some question about my build, before they are asked:
  • It's a Yellow Logic Billet receiver and upper, purchased a long time ago (2009) when they had the Calguns discount.
  • Gunsmoke Enterprises pistol buffer system.
  • CMMG 1/7 twist 10.3" barrel

Never been a huge fan of AR's but this thread makes me want to build one. Makes sense considering I have my own shop. Tempted to just mill one from plate.

Not woth it, the time involved in doing that is worth more then the cost of an 80% IMHO.

If you have a lot of time on your hands, and free materials, I guess it might be worth it.

I have a line on Bushmaster LPK's for $65.00 each shipped.I can hopefully order about 20 at this price.
These have the pistol hammer and the std. springs.
As I will be fronting my own money for this buy , I request a USPS MO for as many as you wish.
Please reply with a pm if interested .
The order will be placed on 4/30/11

I wasn't aware there was a specific hammer for pistol use. I've just been using the hammer that comes with a std LPK Seems to work fine

I was told that the round head hammer was developed for the 9mm
AR's due to the smaller diameter of the pistol primers. They seem to work fine with rifle primers to so........

using cnc machines are cheating! You have to do it on a drill press and hold it while milling saying "dont screw up dont screw up" couple dozen times. Nice work though!

Those are just cad files, not cam files. I think you'd have to be a little crazy to use someone else's program. There is just to many variables to do that without having setup conventions and communication with the programmer.

I'm no programmer or machinist, I wouldn't know. Just linked that site in hopes it'll help someone that knows what they're doing.
