Default What is the best AR-15 upper with no forward assist?

The only ones I have seen are the low cost options like M&P 15 sport. That make be ok but I wondered if there are other options. I want a complete upper but not a complete rifle. I have also seen that many of these that don't have a fwd assist also leave off the ejection port cover. I want that but no fwd assist.

Any ideas?

Last AR I assembled has one of these by Rainier. Very good quality.
For all practicle purposes I never use the FA on any of my rifles.

Nothing wrong with an M&P-15 Sport, at least with the actual upper receiver.

Every BCG on the right side has a notch that is perfect for forward assist with you fingers, place finger (or thumb) in notch, push forward

Yes it is, but mine has been nothing short of amazing in terms of reliability and accuracy.

I know I get dupes by accident sometimes because the forum moves slow and seems to time out.

I was set on going with a Les Baer stripped upper since it didn't have a forward assist but unfortunately, there were uppers with it that were cheaper haha so I'm going that route. I just found out Rainier has some and I'm sure they're great.
