You must read better that I do but maybe you are younger. Submitted everything on Monday an started getting incompletes today. Who would think that your spouse's CDL would not be acceptable evidence of where she lives although apparently my CDL is acceptable as to where I live and her CDL was good enough when she DROSed her last handgun. So why do I need to show where she lives? Will she not have to provide that information when she completes her part of the AW registration process?
They want to be sure to co-registrant currently lives at the same address as the primary. Drivers licenses can have addresses that are up to 5 years old on them. I agree that it's unreasonable that they even care, but that's their reason for the other forms of proof of residence

Remember that a signed one-sentence $0 "rental agreement" between you and your co-registrant is acceptable.

I just took a photo of our truck registration and redid them. All are now in progress at this point. With regard to joint or co-registration do we need to wait until they approve my submissions or can she start her co-registration at this time? What information will she need? Am I correct that she will need her own CFARS account? Will she have to submit any photos and descriptions or will my CRIS numbers suffice?

I'm still confused whether featureless homebuilds should be volreg'd or not.

You only need to consider this option if you built from an 80% and used your own serial number. Unless the AB-857 regs are repealed, every self-serialized firearm will need to be VolReged. If you built it from a 100% lower you purchased then it came with a serial number that CA DOJ accepts as legal.

Just an FYI, every 5.56 semi auto Colt listed on it's website with one exception, is shown as model: "M4 Carbine" and that is what is on the receiver. The one exception is the AR15 A4, which is listed as just that, Model AR15A4. The 9mm and 7.62 variants also have different model names.

So, what drawbacks are there to registering?

I heard that you may forfeit your 4th amendment rights by registering.

I also heard that 911 may have delayed response due to RAW possession.

Not yet, gives it a few years.

That's total BS.

So I guess if it were a 0-80% featureless homebuild that wasn't serialized, no need to volreg?

What about a stripped lower that I have? Can't register it because it's not complete right? So I would have to go featureless if I build it after deadline?

You wonít be able to register it as an assault weapon. It would have had to be a complete and functional bullet button weapon with features prior to 1/1/17.

Thank you. So if built, obviously it needs to be featureless, but does it need to be registered (obviously not as AW, but registered nonetheless)? And if so, I suppose first one should apply for a serial with the DOJ?

Two questions for those that submitted and got approval letters:

1. Did you take your photos with or without your Scope/ Red Dot/ Magnifier/ Bipod? My optics and bipod are all quick release.

2. What size photos did those who submitted and got approval end up going with? 600 x 450?

1. Without anything, not even a magazine, less information is better.

2. Mine were 1600 x 1200

I'd say remove everything that is an accessory. Why do they need that information? They didn't even ask for it.

For those that have submitted and got approval letters, if you have Cal Multi on the lower did you choose "Firearm with interchangeable barrels?" Or did you pick a specific cal?

Registration CF
I filled everything out for my 1st rifle and added it to my pending cart. I then filled out info for my 2nd rifle but could not upload pictures as the form was populated with pictures from my 1st rifle.
I moved the first rifle from pending to the cart and filled out the form again for the 2nd. This time the drop down for selecting the file to upload did not work, no drop down button.
I logged out and logged back in thinking i could start over, this time my first rifle was gone. I logged out and in again and my 1st rifle was back in the pending cart. clicking on the first rifle in the cart give me an "unexpected error". Now i'm stuck and can't do anything.
I submitted the errors via the web site. Hopefully they fix it before June.

Any suggestions for adding additional rifles? Is there some trick or step I missed?

Also - On the rifle features, I did not select forward pistol grip, because I took them off for the pictures. In the notes I wrote "this rifle can accept a forward pistol grip". Has anyone else done this?

Angry Registration Submittal (Photos, etc.)

1) I took the scopes, bipod, bipod mount (for Picatinny rail), and magazines off/out of my rifles.

2) I took 640 x 480 photos (about 80KB each one), and used the app suggested in the Guide to strip the metadata.

3) I included the fifth "Optional Photo" with a serial number close-up, to avoid any "uncertainties."

I completed and submitted (cringe) the registration on Monday 19 February , and got the "approved and registered" document in the mail Saturday 24 February.

I thought that rather quick. It restored my faith in the system.

NOT!

Two of my rifles were "Caliber Multi," and one was "Caliber .223/5.56"; I chose "Firearm with interchangeable barrels" for all of them and they went through.
