I apologize to Plinker if I had made any personal attacks, but my statements about communication still stand. As stated before, no disrespect intended.

I guess I'll be a good little boy and sit in the corner and wait for my mags.
Name calling? WTF Where did you see that at?

Now you know why I swore off ever doing another group buy!
But at least reading this and other GB threads, the next sucker... errr... organizer should know who to immediately exclude from the GB based on there past GB behavior.

I'll have to try the other mags then. Thanks for the heads-up.

I don't know if mine are older or newer than uclaplinker's. I ordered them directly from Spikes in February. They have the FIRE/SAFE as opposed to the bullet markings.

I have the bullet markings on mine so that may be the difference.

Yeah, I'm fairly certain that no one meant anything offensive, rather just utilized the forum to vent over the lack of info. No biggie, and I'm just speculating, but is everyone "chilled out" now that you have an idea of whats going on?

Group Buys are understandably a massive undertaking. If we continue with this uncomfortable banter back and forth, on BOTH sides, we'll see less and less members that are willing to take on the headache. The former facilitators of GB's already swear off group buys. They are a great way to get good deals, but they will cease to exist without a considerable measure of patience and consideration by EVERYONE involved with things don't go as planned...

For what it's worth, I love my mags

They drop perfectly from my Noveske lower too!

Thanks again Plinker.

Tried some more combinations... They won't drop free from either of my Spike's lowers, or my friends. These are all ST-15's with the FIRE/SAFE markings. They have no problem dropping free from my Mega lower.

Now you guys can all see why I don't do group buys anymore.
I learned my lessons 5 years ago.
You will never be able to please everyone and there will always be a couple guys *****ing when 99% of the other buyers are completely happy with the deal they got.

Lesson #1: don't work for free.

I dont think it has anything to do with b!tching, it has to do with people following through with what they quoted/said. People spent their hard earned bucks on a product and Im guessin they wanna know whats going on with what they invested in. If a date slips, just post a update. A simple update would put a lot of peoples mind at ease. It just takes a little communication.

so i shouldnt be "*****ing" even though i havent got my mags yet after a couple of months? i guess im not part of the "99%" in this group buy that are completely happy.

I'll post a message when they ship.

I'm waiting on the last few and touch-ups on the yellow follower mags. The rest are packaged up and ready to be shipped. Just a few more days, guys.

I'm in as well. What color??? FDE???

The DuraCoat is Finished on all of the mags. Guess what I did over the holiday weekend? Well I also knocked out an FDE lower for another member here. Tomorrow I will install the remaining yellow followers for uclaplinker so he doesn't have to do it and send them back for any necessary touch ups. I'll do any touch ups in the evening and get them to uclaplinker ASAP.

haha

I sincerely doubt I'll be doing another GB. Too many things go wrong too easily.

So, it looks like I'll have things in place to ship (hopefully) Saturday or Monday. Everyone who's waiting on mags will be getting them.

Should be real soon - (Day or two). I'll post when they ship. I'm trying to coordinate getting the last few from Drew.

He's excited to have them ALL done and I know he'll be excited to get them out of his shop and in your hands, as will I.

I love group buys.
Now quantify the costs of those items above and figure out what you actually made by doing the job.

If we don't hear back from you, we will know that you shot yourself.

And if he does shoot himself, I got dibs on the compressor, blasting cabinet and park setup.

Rather than looking at it from a how much did it cost me to be involved with this project. I'm looking at it as a stepping stone project that increased the volume capability of my shop. The new equipment was long overdue and I thank all those involved for contributing to the evolution.
As I type this UclaPlinker is picking up the last of the mags from my wife who most graciously agreed to transport them into West LA.
uclaplinker is the one who I know put some of his own money and time beyond what he had anticipated to make the project work. He never gave up and although I know he got busy and ill in June I couldn't help but notice his involvement on the boards has dropped considerably. I realize the end result of a delay plagued project shouldn't end in party and praise but I hope you all encourage uclaplinker to resume his active role on Calguns. When the news is disheartening his communication could use some improvement but I see him as a man with integrity and the will to stay the course. I ribbed him a little last night about the bipod group buy and at least he laughed. I just hope to see him post as much as he did before. Being a teacher he always has the patience to work with the newbe's and doesn't have a harsh bone in his body.
uclaplinler, Thank You for allowing me to be a part of your project, my apologies for delays on my part, I assure you the shop is up to speed now. I'm standing by for the next project.

Well.........

I'm packaging up the last few I got from Drawn's wife (TY! again!) last night and noticed a small issue with a few...

I'll still be able to get most of them out by tomorrow, but a few on the tail end are going to have to wait a bit longer (sorry fellas).

Anyways... for anyone considering doing a group buy just know it takes a lot more work, time and effort than you'd ever think. Be prepared for delays from every possible direction. I'll still be happy when it's done cause I really think these are cool. Even with the availability of the Magpul 10/20s these are still of nicer quality (once duracoated these steel mags are fantastic), traditional look and can be opened for cleaning, etc. With a Ranger they look and work perfect.

I'll post a list of everyone who can expect theirs soon. For those who wanted gray followers but would have gotten yellow I had Drew overcoat them with Duracoat so they won't be yellow.

I'll be on the boards a tiny bit more, but things have changed a lot for a lot of reasons and time isn't what it once was....
