Posen depot re-work S/42G K98k
Newest addition to my collection. I thought I was buying a stock mismatch S/42G. Turned out to be something completely different. I was concerned it was humped at first, but info from the K98kforums say otherwise. I was told the receiver and bolt are from a Posen depot rework and the stock is from a Magdeburg rework. One of the most interesting finds this year!
Sadly, it's been sporterized 1935 S/42G crest Notice the Weimar firing proof on the receiver and Nazi firing proof on the replacement barrel, indicated by the 0,2 marking Astrawerke inspected and numbered rear sight slide Imperial German proofed rear sight base JP Sauer proofed and numbered leaf JP Sauer proofed and numbered slide lock |

the weirdest k98 I saw was on the forum's a while ago. it was a ww1 polish capture so it was stamped with captured marks and in ww2 it was recaptured by the Germans and re stamped for the germans once again.
