Default Any idea what these rounds are?

My elderly neighbor had to move out of state to live with her daughter, as she was getting unable to care for herself. Her son came and had an estate sale. While talking with him, we talked guns and he brought out a coffee can of stuff. Gave me a handful of items which he said he had pulled out of the desert in Glamis.

I think the bullets and casings are 1943 .50 cal, but not sure what the two larger items are so I turn to the collective brain of Calguns.

Have you tried posting your question in the proper forum? You know, instead of the picture gallery, the Curio and Relic forum.

Are there any laws against owning a live 20mm cartridge? Surely a .50 BMG is legal as well.
