Librarian, you can't get rid of me that easy!

Yes, Texas but I'll still be around Calguns periodically. I haven't been around much in the last few months due to personal reasons (elderly mother, sick cat, etc). I've mostly been a lurker and not a poster recently, often not even logging in.

A bit off topic for this thread, but honestly Calguns and my last 5.5 year adventure living in CA has really opened my eyes to so much. I'm very grateful for the community here, as toxic as it can be at times (ok... most of the time).

I've always been a pro-gunner, been shooting most of my life really. Call me naive or whatever, but really I had no idea how bad the erosion of our rights was until I moved here and was forced to comply or risk being a felon. Or perhaps it's that I've simply gotten older and been exposed to more and more.

A bit more relevant to this thread, I started getting into prepping about a year or so before moving to CA. Kinda backwards I know, move to one of the most densely populated regions... but I was able to get a small cabin at the top of a mountain nestled in the redwoods away from everything. But not far enough away and certainly no where near self-sufficient plus it was a rental that I would never be willing to pay the asking price if I wanted to buy outright. So I consider moving to TX very much a prep.

Reloading .38 for ~$0.123/rd.
Reloading .357 for ~$0.133/rd.

At ~$50 for 100 rd retail, after tax (50 .38, and 50 .357) this is a savings of about $37.20 for every 100 rounds shot/reloaded.

Paying down debt is my new goal, to be as debt free as I can be, and every bit helps, but one can't stop shooting to same money, just shoot cheaper... aka shoot more for less.

Shot my full-house .357 rereloads (after a workup).
Very nice, even if 125gr compared to 158gr.

Adding water stations around the outside areas of the house to help fight fire if it comes this way again.

Signed up for Jim Amentler's gunshot wound course on Aug 19; unpacked my blowout kit and compared my contents with a commercial kit. Already pretty complete but need to move a couple pieces from one bin to the bag.

This last weekend I switched all my plant watering heads to drip lines, and turned them on manually, as one of the actuators on the automatic valves has a short, but it was too dang hot to deal with this weekend.

Oh, and shot more to reload more.
It's like paying myself back for being so awesome!

Prior weekend I put up LED shop lights in the garage to be able to function in there... now to get some crap thrown away to prep for leaving this damned state.
