Default Next meet & shoot planning...

The last shoot/ clinic was awesome...Thanks again to Pete and Timberwolf for an awesome time.

Its now time to start planning the next shoot. So what do you guys want to do? Anyone have any good ideas?

When do you guys want to do it? I think it would be cool for the club to either go down to that palma range out by jicko (he is going to ask them about getting the club in there for a shoot), maybe a desert shoot, or maybe we could all show up to one of timberwolfs matches at a place to shoot....

I can't wait to start using everything timberolf taught me...

Well I'll put it the same vote I do everytime.. desert shoot!

As for the monthly match at APS.. we should all just go to that but still have a regular meet.

The Palma range is the one that has all the rquirements, right? NRA membership.. can only shoot on certain weekdays.. requires annual membership AND a daily range fee.. shooting on weekends requires you to shoot at a match first which then has more requirements and fees?

Unless you a big fat guy like me that is the best way to get some of this stuff for cheap.

Default anyone have a contact for stickers?

I was thinking of getting some SCPRC stickers made up and wanted to know if anyone knew where to go to get them done?

we also need to figure out what logo we are going to use if we even want to use one.

I'm planning on making these and selling them at cost....

anyone want to try and design something?

Its only 40 miles from Bakersfield. And yes, there are PLENTY of places to camp and shoot. Lots of BLM land everywhere.

I would love to do another camp/shoot. Especially if we can talk Jicko in coming again and making steak.

Also I believe I still have all the logos.

Wish I could get off to attend that - it sounds like a great class.

As to the next place to meet . . . well I can selfishly say everyone needs to converge at my match on 09/29 - it'll be the last night match of the year. I'm also up for a desert trip somewhere in between Mojave and and the junction down at the 395. Or y'all can come shoot at APS - I'll put out some additional (smaller) steel and some poppers up on the hill and maybe speak with the powers to be about getting a "club" discount for everyone.

Whatever we decide though I'll need a couple weeks notice, especially if its non-APS related so that I can make sure and get covered so I can get the day off. Now through Christmas is our busy time.

As to a club emblem I had toyed with a mild dot with So Cal Prec Rifle Club on top and One Shot One Hit below it for the books I'm trying to arrange a goup buy on.

Copper city rd in Barstow, it's about 1-2 hours from most of la/oc. Theres a couple good spots with plenty of room for tents, and you can shoot out to 500 yards. I'm going out there this weekend, so I can scout out the best possible area for a safe and fun group shoot if anyone's interested.

500 yards? We were spoiled by Pete's ranch. I dought we could do less then 800 and be happy.

Sure you could go further, possibly much further but, you will have to walk through a lot of brush and maybe a couple hills, which might be kind of strenuous for you old farts. JK

We can do 500 yards at ASR - I need distance, the long distant sound of steel clanging on a distant hill, the faint aroma of coyote crap . . .

You'll need to have a "hunter safety class day" first and get licensed up!

Then you're ready to go. I have a call I'll bring.

Last weekend I called in a bobcat to within about 15 yards. Didn't shoot him, just watched him walk around inquisitively. He ended up trotting off after he probably winded me.

If you guys are interested, I know a place to setup for coyotes thats about 10 miles from Petes place, on some BLM land. There are plenty of camping spots and shooting is just fine for miles around.

Uh oh - guess I'd better see if I can find one of my old licenses (haven't had one in about 2 - 3 years) so I can get one. Wonder what a 175SMK will do to a song dog.

I am in for desert shoot if no coyote hunting. Killing animals for pleasure is disgusting

I'm down to kill for pleasure. I generally like to cut off a foot or tail and make something out of it though I'm licesed and ready to go!

Hey Ryan.. whens the next time you're going? Maybe Peter and I will roll up.. it'll be worth the 200 mi round trip ride!
