Default Sen. Warner flips on Assault Weapon ban...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opini...=.08aa94a759e9

Quote:
Though I remain convinced that strengthening our background-check system is critical, I also believe we must do more to end mass shootings. So today I am signing on as a sponsor of the assault weapons ban.

I do this as a gun owner and a proud supporter of the Second Amendment.
A senator from Virginia of all places. There must be an election coming up.

I know what it is... the AR market is so depressed, and ARs sooo cheap that he is afraid that his previously oppressed constituency will be able to afford them. That just wont do.

When I was living in VA, he seemed level headed, reasonable and rationale. No less, I would not vote for him. I have an aversion to Democrats.

Since his arrival in the Senate and circus surrounding the Russian collusion, his colors are coming through clearly. Flipping on the AWB is a classic move. Makes me think, that inner polling might suggest he might be in a tight race?

Northern Virginia might as well be Los Angeles, Boston, or Chicago. This state will be solidly blue in 10 years, if not sooner.

Did you look at the accompanying articles at the bottom? All pretty much "Here's why guns are bad and if you own one you kill puppies!" articles.

Vote for a Dem? Do you want to rot in hell? Although, there might be an exception for DiFi, because of the scumbag turd she is running against. But if the polls say that she is safe, I will write in a pro 2A person. Just how does one do this?

This is correct, Northern VA is VERY liberal now. GOP has not done well in statewide races for some time now.

A real shame what happened to Virginia. I left Northern Virginia 20 years ago to move to California. The illegal immigrates from the 80's and now, and all the government workers and beltway bandits, (consulting firms) have ruined the area. All on the government teat. Northern Va sucks now. Had planned to retire back there, but now just almost as bad as California, Maryland and gone full liberal retard also.

It's suburban DC. What do you expect? The government-industrial complex is more powerful than the voters.

Warner is a libtard bunghole. He has always been antigun.

Unfortunately, Northern Virginia will make sure he is elected again.

The liberal disease is spread through the education system. Liberal arts majors in CA have migrated across state lines to free america and are now "teaching" kids in red counties, to use the word "teach" generously. One of my exes is now teaching "history" at a middle school in AZ, fully indoctrinating them into white colonial oppression and cis-het hate. We'll see a massive blue flare in elections once these students come of age. In short, our days are numbered in this country. Enjoy your rights now

"I do this as a gun owner and a proud supporter of the Second Amendment. "

My God, to say that while betraying it is astonishing the level of scumbag politician doublespeak.

One of my cousins lives in a very nice neighborhood in Great Falls VA. He was telling us that most of his neighbors are lefties that are fairly high up in the Federal foodchain.

A 'pro-gun' Democrat stabbing gun-owners in the back? What a surprise...

If you believe polls? Lots of recent history has shown polls are not reliable indicators

Right? This flies in the face of the argument that "You can be a democrat and be pro-gun!". It is more like "You can be a democrat and say you're pro-gun.". Cuz that crap ain't true. It's like me saying "I'm a vegetarian!", as I grub on some nice ribeye.
