Default Anybody had an attorney contact doj about CFARS?

Im just wondering if anybody has been given any sort of advice or help from an attorney with the CFARS fails? I'm just not very comfortable sitting in legal limbo with halfway registered firearms. Thanks in advance for any helpful input.

Under what context? Are you asking about what you can do with your guns that are pending registration? The conventional wisdom seems to be just keep the guns in a disassembled state so they don't qualify as an "assault weapon" under the law until your particular gun is registered and lettered as a RAW. If you have a CFARS gun that actually fails registration (not just a bounceback for more information/correct your application), then you got bigger problems.

I looked at the regulations that caused this massive clusterf*ck, to see if there was any requirement for timeliness in processing, and guess what? - there isn't. Folks with In Progress applications are basically screwed. You could be In Progress until you die. And then the BBAW has to be moved out of state or otherwise disposed of as provided in the regulations.

If anything, this is closet dispossession by DoJ.

Sorry to be clear these are vol reg 80%'s that were self serialized long before the deadline, and like many others got kicked back due to them needing me to specify a caliber.

Im not interested in a lawsuit or anything like that. I really just want to know if there's anything i can do to help resolve this situation or limit my legal liability. I've tried the report issue feature many times as well as multiple calls and have gotten nowhere.
