Default Which scope mount/rings do you recommend for...

Hi !

I've got an AR-15 with a flat-top which I want to use for 100-200 yard target shooting. Just bought a Leupold VX-II 6-18x40 from a fellow Calgunner and now need a scope mount/rings.

Any recommendations ?

Thanks

You will need to use our Mark IV superhigh 1 inch diameter rings. They will attach directly to the picatinny rail.

I have a Weaver V3 scope in a 1" Burris PEPR mount. Dont know if that will work with your scope.

Folks,

Thanks for the suggestions. Got a newbie question. Many/all of you suggest 1" rings or mounts that go up to 1". Would a 6-18x40 scope fit in 1" inch rings ?

BTW, I really like Larue LT-104, just wished it wasn't so expensive,

Thanks

G

When people say 1" rings, they are referring to the diameter of the scope tube, if the main tube of your scope is 1" then those are the rings you need, then its a matter of finding the proper height, which, with a 40mm objective lens on an AR you would be looking at a height of 1.125" or 1.25" now if your main tube is 30mm then that would you go with, same height though.

I would highly suggest the Badger Ordnance:
AR-10 & SR-25 style rifles
Extra High
Height 1.25”, diameter 30mm.
P/N 306-79

coupled with the 1" sleeves if your tube is 1", with that you should be good to go for the life of the rifle and scope and then some.
