How quickly people forget. This is a thread about the different ways companies reacted as we got close to the ammo ban. Luckily a judge threw it out, but the idea was to keep it around for a while so people could reward companies that kept to the minimums of the law instead of totally throwing us under the bus. I know I've tried to reward the more CA-friendly companies.

Agree BIGTIME.. I heard all that crap about vendors "protesting" said pending legislation by not shipping to us.. But the truth is the state is really just after the TAX revenue.. So any such "protest" would be a joke..

I like this thread.. If you dont? "lock" your yourself from it...

I not saying punish anyone (like they care).. Im saying I too remember those that stuck it out with us and those that might have been just covering their ***** or didnt want to deal with us..

I mean, in the end.. They all made a pile of money off us (either way) because that whole mess drove up prices for months..

I was able to purchase 308's and ship to LA county from Cabela's without any problems. So correction on the OP which it stated, Cabela's "NOT shipping ANY loaded ammo to CA". I don't know about handgun ammo though.

Not trying to be rude, but did you read what this thread is about?

It is about something that no longer applies. Look up AB962

The powers that be think otherwise, but I think it should be either un-stickied or at the very least closed. It can be used as a reference for where to spend money if you so choose but boycotting those that were simply waiting for their lawyers to look the bill over prior to deciding seems a bit silly, and doing so now makes even less sense.

Check out ammunitiondepot.com for some of the lowest ammo (bulk included) pricing anywhere on the internet. Just ordered 1000rds of xm193 from them at 299.00 (316 to the door in San Jose) but that sale is over now. They currently have it at $319.97, in line with everyone else on the internet but they USUALLY have their ammo at the lowest price online. I spoke with Scott (managing partner at ammutiondepot.com) and he constantly monitors prices online to ensure they have the lowest possible pricing. Customer support is EXCELLENT and (lol) he feels pity on us poor souls in the PRK (People's Republik of Kalifornia) ;-)

Check them out at www.ammunitiondepot.com

I ordered from ammunition to go, I explicitly asked them if they did ship to CA, they said yes, and in fact my package is due today. I will check in later once I actually have my hands on it. Sorry if someone already covered it.

Edit: Ok, I just received 100 rounds of 7.62X54R from Ammunition to Go, I think that qualifies as them shipping to CA

You should move Cabela's to the will ship list. I received 1000 rounds of 9mm from them recently, and have 500 rounds of .308 coming.

I know this thread started 3 years ago and for the last few weeks, even around Christmas, I cannot find .22 LR ANYWHERE in Orange County!! I have tried Big 5, Fowlers, Bass Pro Shop, Dick's, the list goes on...my next resort will be to purchase them in Arizona.

Does anyone know if Foothill or Yuma Coin & Gun Shop presently has .22 LR in their inventory?

Default Reloading Components

I purchased brass from this site with no issues: http://www.shs-products.com/category_s/57.htm, but they only sell brass no ammo, powder, primers etc. They had .308 brass in stock and I my 5.56 brass will be around the first of March.

[QUOTE=beemaze;5523565]I'm trying to start a list of CA friendly ammunition dealers (and the non friendly ones too). The list is not intended to badmouth one particular dealer or another, but more to see who is willing to listen and deal with CA's idiotic ammunition law and others who simply don't want to deal period.

Okay, I'm confused. If Cabela's isn't shipping to California, how were you able to pull this off?

It's because the things that applied to this thread never became law. This thread is over two years old.

Default CA friendly ammo dealers

Try Freedom Ammunition (not to be confused with Freedom Munitions) in OH. I had a good telephone conversation with Steve, the owner. He sounded like a good guy with ethics.

It's not all of California just some cities has been that way for awhile. Sac happens to be one of those cities they will not ship to.

I just ordered 500 rounds of 5.56 from Eagle Eye Guns LLC. will post update when the ammo arrives or is denied for shipment to California.

to my knowledge online ordering of ammo to OC is not prohibited.

I have my ship notice today from UPS should be here on 17th. so add these guys to the list of who will ship to CA.

UPDATE: my ammo showed up today. I live in Santa Ana so it's a go here for them.

no reason not to update it with those that will ship to this crazy state. it will help others and support those companies that ship here.

I scanned the thread and Underwood isn't mentioned. I got 500 rounds of hot 10mm for $279.90 plus shipping. They had no issues with California.

Can non-leo peeps purchase "handgun" ammo (9mm, 40, 45 etc) from an out-of-state ammo dealer and have it shipped to their CA address?
