Default Stones?

Wheres a good place to get a set of stones for polishing, etc? Figured the freight of harbors would have a decent set but im not seeing it online. TIA!

I have them. They don't hold up that well. They will groove pretty easy. I use them to put an edge on chisels.http://m.harborfreight.com/catalogse...rpening+stones

I think the HF ones will do as I need them for trigger jobs on two rifles right now, dont need a lot of life out of them for now.

That is what I order as well.

I get the diamond paste and diamond/nickel from MSC and Lansky.

I learned a few things when i worked in a tool room

Thing is good stones are cheep to for $20-$30 you can get a few of each grit in various sizes.
$50 in stones will last a lifetime.


Sad thing is, OP wants a set of stones, now we find out that harbor freight is good enough & he's going to do a trigger job. Now I realize everyone has to start somewhere but if you knew WTF you were doing you'd already have stones, because a trigger is not the place to start learning on.
