After the 2008 election, many distributors "over ordered"

They hoped that they might get 5-10% of the order and then they could cancel the remaining order.

The back order is fictional as every shop has placed orders with multiple distributors and the volume is not real.

If an AWB is passed, they will build up until the last day possible.

If it does not pass, the demand will drop...

Once we get 1-2 new Supreme Court judges appointed by the current government, all bets are off....

Either a ban will kick in and they will have to cancel some orders, or a ban wont kick in and people will cancel on their own. Either way, I highly doubt anyone who placed an order through Stag wont see it for 2 years.

I placed an order for a Stag 3G upper via AR15sales.com on 12/23, charged 12/26. The stated lead time then was 20 weeks. Now they aren't taking orders at all. I am curious as to what the actual lead time is, although I won't get too antsy until May or so I guess!

Why were you charged for an item that cannot be delivered for twenty weeks? Last time I bought an AR upper, I was not charged until it was ready to ship, which took about two months from the time the order was placed.

Ar15Sales states everything on their website that the credit card will be charged ahead of time and to still expect the long wait. No bait and switch and they have the best price, including free shipping.Pretty stellar reputation across the boards.

If this trend continues on, 80% lowers are the best bet.

I just ordered an lpk a few days ago and at that time it said a few weeks more than 8 to be exact for some items. And all in stock (lpk) will be shipped in a few days so I'm hoping that still applies as it shows lpks are still in stock even though my crd hasn't been charged yet and it still shows pending

Short for Commercial And Government Entity Code. Used to identify manufacturers/suppliers to DoD and other Govt entities ie 0GU83 is for MATECH and 6P199 is for Center Industries/Parsons(bought Center) makers of standard 30rd magazines. Some supply items don't always have the manufacturer. Cage 6P199 hasn't had marked floor plates since about 2005. When ordering more instead of using an NSN or NIIN the cage code would be used to identify the manufacturer and in most cases what items they supply for the military.

I ordered a 3GH upper from ar15sales.com on 12/6/12 and still don't have it. At the time, he expected I'd get it around the first part of February. I talked to him a few weeks ago and he still thought I'd get it on time - since the order was placed before the SHTF.

You mean 0% 6061 billets or 80% receivers at 100% prices.

The bigger market allows for more profit in 100% receivers than 80 or 0% forgings.

I'm kicking myself too... I had the chance to get the same upper for $90 more on Gunbroker, but I decided to go cheap and get it from ar15sales. I would have had it three months ago.

I just got an e-mail from Stag saying that my order for LPK's are in process. Ordered them back in December, but at least I got some response.

Ammo Bros in Ontario had a great looking "3G" out on the shelf a week ago for $1,999. I imagine it's gone by now but just a late heads up. Might want to call if your interested.

That's good to know. I'd just like to hear from the guy to make sure he hasn't skipped town. I don't know if I can even contest the credit card charge at this point - since it's been over three months.

Well folks....I am in the same boat; the waiting boat that is.

Ordred a Stag 3G upper through ar15sales.com on 12/18, still haven't heard anything. As of tomorrow it will be 10 weeks. The website said 8-12 weeks when i ordered. Who knows if that estimate will even prove to be accurate. I don't think the industry projected this demand.

Someone should create an "Official Stag Waiting Thread" so we can see when people start getting their orders.

Ordered an LPK on 1/18 called and asked what the status was, the only thing the rep could tell me was it was still processing. I asked if these were pre orders and he stated no they make the LPK's.... Not sure what to think good thing my other one came through from Core15.

I ordered a Stag 3GH about 11 months ago and had to wait about 3-4, can't remember exactly, but it did ship. I would assume with all the stuff going now now, I bet it will take longer. good luck!

The entire firearms was caught off guard. Patience is probably a good position to take. It sucks but it is realty for the moment.

Well, I just talked to Pete at ar15sales.com. They're still there, still open for business and he put my mind at ease (for now). I hope to see my upper some time in the next few weeks. I'll update here when anything develops.
