Default Benchmade 818 Mini Loco

Just arrived today. I'm by no means a knife expert but man I've had a bunch of $30-60 craptastic knives that I didn't care if I lost including my last Kershaw which was imported, couldn't hold an edge and sharpening did nothing.

Decided to upgrade to the Benchmade 818 Mini Loco, a new and smaller version of the 808 Loco.

Specs:
CPM-S30V Stainless Steel (58-60HRC)
Blade Length: 3.38" (8.59cm)
Blade Thickness: 0.145" (3.68mm)
Open Length: 7.62" (19.34cm)
Closed Length: 4.38" (11.13cm)
Handle Thickness: 0.59" (14.99mm)
Weight: 4.47oz. (126.72g)
Handle Material: G10

Action is buttery smooth. Even though it's the mini version, I wouldn't call it a lightweight, small pocketknife by any means. It's got a good heft to it but not so much as to prevent EDC. Price is around $190, not cheap but after my previous experiences with cheap knives, let's see how the buy once, cry once philosophy pans out.

Who makes those gloves and where did you get them?

Also, nice knife. I’m debating a mini griptilian to replace the one I lost or perhaps something new (which brought me here).

Nice looking knife. How is the pocket clip? Does the knife ride fairly deep?

Mechanix M-Pact in Coyote. Got them from amazon.

Have the mini grip and just got the new model 565 Mini Freek. Thinking the Mini Freek may replace the mini grip as my EDC. It has a rubbery grip which may be a turnoff for some.

It has what Benchmade considers a deep carry clip. I donít use the clip due to being in CA and prying eyes.

Nice Man! I have the 808 Loco and its fantastic! Cuts through anything. With the high grind even though the blade stock is .16 inches thick it still slices very well.
