Yes! My iPhone 4 sucks with IOS 7. Apps are slow, typing lags, network is slower. The only good thing about it is the improved camera. One of my sons is coming over today to help me roll it back to IOS 6.

Good luck with that. Apple stopped signing versions of iOS 6, so there is no easy way to downgrade.

http://www.macworld.com/article/2049...still-can.html

This is why I have yet to upgrade my 4s. It works great under 6.0, so I see no compelling reason to move to 7.0 until I know that it's stable and efficient.

Glad I'm kinda slow to update! I'm still using the last version of the iOS. So no new problems for me. I'll wait for the next version and see if that fixes the glitches, and what new glitches are in store.

My wife's 4S is running fine with iOS7.

I only put it on my 4 when I was doing a system restore before selling it, so I have no real feedback on how it works with that hardware.

It's great on the 5S, though.

Yes lots of lag and app crashing issues overall on the 4S. So far for me it's intermittent enough for me ignore though.

Same here. I'm also not the world's fastest texter/operator, so the lag is not so apparent. No crashing as of yet.

Turn off the background App refresh and the Apple Store auto download of updates. This is supposed to help.

Ok. Thought the phone was taking a dump. Gotta live technology, just when it gets good it bends you over. I'll try and shut off some auto features to see if that helps.

Isn't it true that once upgrading it is hard to downgrade? I'm still using ios6 and have no plans to upgrade so far...but I have that annoying red "1" notification on my settings icon that won't go away

Read the article that I linked to above.

Quote:
When you install a new iOS version, during installation the device connects to Apple’s servers to ensure that the version you’re installing is approved (or “signed” by the company”). If it has been signed, full speed ahead. However, when Apple issues a new version, it quickly stops signing the old ones. While you may be able to download a copy of an old version, if it fails the signing test, the installation will likewise fail.
Apple has already stopped signing iOS 6, so once you move to 7, you are stuck with 7.

Me, along with several other iPhone 4S users have experience the inability to use wifi on our phones. This all began after the newest update, I never had this issue before. If this problem persists I will never buy another iPhone.

So since I am not one of those hip technology people who feel the need to have the newest and greatest iPhone, Apple now ****s up your old phone so you need to buy a new one? this is bull ****.

My wife was buying a new phone a couple weeks ago (she got an Android - AFAIK iOS 7 has lots of problems, so I discouraged her from getting an iphone) and the Verizon guy told me an iphone 4 doesn't have the power to really run iOS7 properly.

I'm still on 5.1.1, too. When Apple screwed up Maps with 6, I figured I didn't need that noise.

iOS7 is like Android, but for iPhruity-devices, only slower...

It's funny how Apple lists specs that are not really the tech-specs, but dimensional and apparently storage capacity only: http://www.apple.com/lae/iphone/iphone-4s/specs.html

Possible issue?
4S:
Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 w/512 MB RAM
http://www.gsmarena.com/apple_iphone_4s-4212.php

5S:
Dual-core 1.3 GHz Cyclone (ARM v8-based) w/1 GB RAM DDR3
http://www.gsmarena.com/apple_iphone_5s-5685.php

Even Androids with less than 768MB of RAM drag quite a bit, even if running a LEAN ROM.

Considering we have over 250 idevices to update here at work, That's one reason why we're upgrading everyone to the 5S; since iOS 7 was basically recompiled to perform better on the 64bit cortex architecture.

We've ran it on the iPhone 4S (Verizon) with no issue and the iPhone 5.

Keep in mind to those users who have 5.1.1, most of the developers are going to stop supporting iOS 5 due to Apple and their new SDK restrictions (should be getting warning messages, etc. from apple or devs)

Technically, very apple thing they're doing, forcing users to just upgrade to the latest

P.s. - Google maps is available now if you didn't like the apps so it's OK to upgrade now from iOS 5

Running OK on my 4S.
It's running OK on the wifes 4, she's not thrilled with it but it IS running half way decently.

iPhone 4s on iOS 7.0.3, runs the same as before, great. Same is true of sons' phones and brother's family too...

Wonder how many of these "issues" are due to "jail broken" phones or apps loaded outside the App Store enviroment?. Apple does not design superior products and software/firmware to be altered and then be held accountable when things go wrong...

All stock, straight from apple/verizon. Apps from Apple store. I beginning to think its just being overworked. Like my old xp OS and all of the new program requirements.

I have a 4S with the new software. It runs okay but noticed it lagged a little after the new update. I have not updated my iPad 2 because of this. The lag is minor but noticeable.

I'm on the latest 7.03 or .04 or whatever we are up to on a 4s. Runs fine. Haven't had any issues. The battery seemed to run down really quickly with the first change over to 7.0 but settled back down to normal by .02 or .03. I don't remember exactly when.

(That's been typical of previous OS updates).

On the older phones, things speed up a bit and don't feel as clunky if you turn off all the paralax and file animations (zooming in and out of folders and apps).

You can turn all that stuff on in settings ---->general ---> accessibility----> reduce motion
