Default The 1st... 2nd IE Chapter Shoot @ the Beaumont Indoor Range!...DONE!!! With AAR!

It is Official!

All the details have been approved by Calguns and the Beaumont Indoor Shooting Range.

We will be meeting at the BISR on Friday, November 30th, from 6PM-8PM. We will meet in the main lobby, pay our fee, sign waivers, then head to the rifle range. The rifle lanes are being reserved for us, so no waiting.

– We plan to have the 5 rifle lanes for the 2 hours from 6PM-8PM. Ideally, we would like to have 2 shooters per lane, but we can have up to 3 shooters per lane.

– As Calgunners, for this event, we are being offered the law enforcement discount rate of $15 per hour. This includes 2 targets.

– We will be allowed the use of the conference room and a private bathroom that will not be available to non event shooters.

– I will be bringing a cooler with some sodas/water and will be ordering a few pizzas. We will be eating/drinking in the conference room. A small donation will be accepted for the pizza.

– Rifle calibers are acceptable up to .308, Handguns up to .44 Magnum. Full metal jacket ammo only, no exposed lead without prior permission from Chief RSO. Tracers, incendiary, or armor piercing rounds are prohibited. No steel jacket, steel core, or aluminum case ammo is allowed. No black powder is allowed. Range ammo prices below. No shotguns.

– If a Calgunner on the rifle range wants to shoot a pistol on the rifle range, they need to leave a $20 deposit that is refundable contingent on that the shooter does not shoot the target hangers. If they do not wish to pay the deposit, then they will have to go to the pistol range to shoot pistol.

– Please note: In the conference room, there is the law enforcement training screen and expensive computer equipment. If someone even touches the law enforcement training screen or computer equipment, that Calgunner(s) will be held liable for all damages. So do not go near it!

– They do have few eye and ear pros to borrow at no charge, but they only have a few, so best to bring your own.

– Only way to keep your brass, is if you use a revolver or a brass catcher.

– I will have some Calguns stickers to give out.

– We will be having a simple rimfire competition with a prize given to first place. More details on this in few days.

I look forward to meeting you guys as well.

Don't worry, since I actually live in the desert, I have a quarterly whole day desert shoot brain storming for our group. A chance for us to stretch out the rifles ( like the one in your avatar) , shoot shotgun and be able to pick up that pricey rifle brass.

I'm not sure I'll be attending, but I do have two questions:

1. For those who want to shoot their handguns on the handgun range. Is that range reserved for us also or we will be mixed with shooters not from or group and will we be competing for them for a lane.

2. Is the rimfire competition restricted to rimfire rifles or will rimfire handguns be allowed. Will those deciding to shoot on the handgun range still be allowed to shoot in the competition or is that restricted to those shooters; handgun and rifle that are shoot on the rifle range reserved for us.

3. Is there is a difference in the type of target hangers on the rifle range than the handgun range that requires the $20 deposit. I'm just wondering.

Thanks.

Sorry for the late response, it has been a busy weekend.

You will be shooting with nonevent shooters on the handgun range.

Full details will be posted on this by Wednesday. However, we are looking at it being a benched rifle with 10 shots timed. I have a semi auto 22 that can be borrowed. This is a fun shoot, so don't worry too much.

3. Is there is a difference in the type of target hangers on the rifle range than the handgun range that requires the $20 deposit. I'm just wondering. Casey is afraid some yahoo is going to set his pistol target 75 feet back and end up putting holes in the ceiling and the hangers.

Thanks.

Default Rimfire Competition

For the rimfire competition:

It will be semi auto rifle with iron sights. Your target will cost you $1. This is not your usual target design and it is pretty fun. Distance will be 75 feet.

I will be bringing a 22 that people can borrow for the competition if they do not have one.

The cost for a box of 100 .22lr is under $4 if purchased at the range.

Prize will be something bought from the range.

David.

Re: deposit for pistols in rifle range. I was in there one day when someone did the opposite. They put the paper target out about 10ft, then shot at the bottom 6 circle and thus shot into the concrete floor.

I plan on stopping in, with length od stay depending on weather. I coach youth football and we made the superbowl this year so Friday is scheduled as our final practice. If its pouring rain, practice will be canceled (per city parks dept), so I'll be able to stay for event.
My other issue is the ongoing Hell of having a herniated disc in my neck, so I probably won't be going all Rambo in there.

Bad news. Sister got into an accident headed to her home from work. She's alright, but I'll have to opt out of tonight's meeting. Keep me posted on stuff, though.

Stay safe in the rain!

No worries man, I could tell you were on a mission... otherwise as everyone was huddled around my PS90, I would have slipped over to check out that AK & your new Hog Slayer.

Nice work, that second pick in the cooler made me hungry!

Glad to see this shooting doing well! Glad everyone had fun at it! for those who want to do shoots more often, we now have two IE shoots and plan on adding another soon. Since the RMR and this event take place about the same time, we will make sure the next monthly shoot we add will be mid-month.

That PS90 of yours is sick!

Maybe we can set up an IE carpool to a hog hunt and have us a hog roast at the next meet up.

Congrats on being the top shot of the night!

Great pics David. Thanks for setting this up!
