Crufflers,

My wife and I were watching Naked and Afraid XL....lol, crazy show. But I noticed one of the women brought a fricken Busse with her. Couldn't tell exactly what what model because of the angle they held it at. But it was definitely a Busse.

Nice knife, congrats on your 20th!

We just had our 22nd, or 23rd recently. She doesn't know I've forgotten how many years... I'm afraid to guess.

Look up Spec-Ops Sheaths. A lot of folks use them.

That's a good suggestion. I just ordered another one. It is hard to find those for a steal nowadays. I think I used to get the BASIC 8" max for $30 or $35...

Just ordered a Combat Master for $61 after tax. Great sheaths. For a RAT7 you'd get the Long.

Here's one more Kydex option. He made my RTAKII Kydex and it is perfect retention and nice thumb break.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/ONTARIO-RAT.../264671876122?

Price will be a wash between this and a SPECOPS because you need to add a TEKLOC to the Kydex... and you may need to mold your insert on the SPECOPS.

I'm hoping to mold the insert on the new one to fit a Mega Ratweiler... we'll see if that works.

DIDN'T WORK... that Ratweiler is too damn fat... it just barely goes into the SPECOPS with no liner... could not get the liner to cooperate and stretch enough, was about to ruin it then purposed it to one of the TALIWHACKERS I have without sheaths.

Here's my old thin RatWeiler - fit great.

Good sheaths though. I'll have to find some kydex.

You might contact Buy Brown, he often makes up Kydex sheaths for new Busse Kin models so you don't have to send your knife to him. His prices are very good too. IMHO

Yeah he had a post on Blade Forums specifically for the Mega Ratweiler... so I have an OD sheath inbound.

Thatís exactly what I was looking for - someone with some already molded in stock.

Hey, good job. That Mega Rat is a beautiful beast.

I was thinking about picking up the thick Trash 2, but I already have plenty of big knives.

I have been searching for the perfect all around outdoor belt knife from 5-6 inches. With the Illuminous 5 and Bravo Alpha, I'm closing in. But I've bought a lot of knives trying to find the perfect knife.

I might try one of those Squad Leader IIís in 3V if I could find one. That would be my first BRK.

I've had a lot of Brown sheaths and they are really good. He knows how to do retention on RES-C and full tang G10/Micarta. More polished than a AZWelke, but he's good too. Rainwalker is great too. AZWelke's thumb breaks are perfect, and the retention is sometimes TOO much - but adjustable.

Default Whats your latest knife purchase?

Another Benchmade. I have a change of heart and going to support Benchmade, a US company. I went for a Mini Griptilian Benchmade Custom with S90V blade.

Came in yesterdays mail. I finally replaced the Westmark 701 that I had back in the late 70ís. Having a Kydex sheath made for it as the stock retaining strap always gets cut when drawing the knife. My knife from the 70ís was so bad at cutting the strap I moved it up to the middle of the handle. Problem fixed. These knives could take a hair popping edge.

Just picked up a Spyderco PM2. Kept a Bugout in my pocket for the last 2 years and finally decided to buy a new knife.

Another Benchmade 940. This one has black scales. I do keep an eye out for a Para Miltary 2 in camo, and a blackout bugout. Damn lists!

The knife before last was a serrated Spyderco Police. This has been on my radar, and finally found a great deal.

These were delivered yesterday. They're both Spyderco Manix 2 XL's. They are indeed extra large... no doubt about it. At first I thought they were freakish, but now that I'm over the shock, I think the black blade will become my new EDC. It's really nice to handle.

What makes these knives special is they are an exclusive run using CPM M4 steel. They were highly anticipated, and sold out within half an hour when they were released. I was fortunate enough to get one of each blade style.

The Cold Steel arrived. It's pretty nice. Small but very sharp. The Hogonokami that was delivered from Amazon was a fake. It was not in the actual box and when I looked at it it was completely different than the one I ordered. I've returned it to Amazon and roasted the seller in the review column.

This one just keeps ending up in the pocket

Assembled and tuned by Rick himself.

I picked this up off a knife maker friend of mine. AEB-L steel rockwell 61-62 he does a molten salt bath heat treat and a deep cryo quench. So far it's been a razor blade.

Pic stole from his instagram

Looks like a lot of interesting fixed blades are being posted. I don't really own any fixed blades. Maybe I should buy one or two.

So far I like it. But being a solid full tang, itís a bit a55 heavy. If I find that it bugs me enough, I may drill out some weight. As it is, it balances on the front fastener.

I haven't been on for awhile.

Yeah, I thought about one of those also, its a little thicker than I want. I would have bought one if they had a .187 inch spine, smaller fuller, 3V, but weighed the same at 13oz. JMHO

They will probably make them again.
