Default Any 10/22 owners using the Volquartsen Muzzleweighted barrel?

Hey all, just DROS-ed my first gun in California! I got a 10/22 lr from Retting's, and I'm thinking about ordering a Volquartsen muzzleweighted barrel for it (I think the birchwood stock is classy looking). Anybody got one? Is there a risk to not using a barrel ring with the factory stock?

Well cool beans. Scott from Volquartsen let me know that the barrels will indeed work on the factory carbine stock and it's perfectly safe to leave the barrel ring off.
