Default Lets see pics of your Rigs/Plate carriers...

Man it pays to have "secret squirrel" friends... Just got a new Crye Precision Armor Chassis Gen III w/ Blast Belt, Stand Alone Plates, Groin protector and Shoulder Plates. Hands down, the most comfortable Rig I've ever tried.

Blast Belt w/ suspenders...2 mag pouches and Raven Concealment holster w/ HK45

Inside of Chassis... also note dual quick release system.

Rear view of Platebag and Blast belt...

Sweet, mine is very basic. How much did that set you back, as shown?

I know, it sucks. 99% of orders are filled to the "boys in the compound" or 3 letter agencies and mil.

Do I spy a HK P30?

Those Crye carriers are awesome, but they don't fit you if you're a chubby dude. Awesome systems though, lookin' good!

My (Well, not really MINE per-se) Eagle Scalable Plate Carrier

Very similar to an Eagle Plate Carrier but there are some slight differences. Anyway, it gets the job done.

Titus, that is such a vague question.

What is a good set-up for you? what would you use it for? what would you need to support off of it? IE: AR-15, AK, sidearms, medical, hydration. The gear is meant to be customized to fit what you need out of it. That's why there are 1000s of different pouches and vests/carriers. Options options options.

Yeah good point sorry bout that. I really like the Ops setup but I dont have that kind of $$. Would like to get a good plate carrier/modular vest that is really comfortable. To carry rifle/pistol mags, camelback, flashlight and plates. One that you dont have to be a contortionist to get into and out of. Somewhere in the price range of 6-7 hundred bucks. That might still be too vague but hopefully helps

I need to post some better pics. Very basic, just a Blackhawk carrier and a set of level 4 multi-hit plates (50% discount, hence $198 for the set, from Galls when they were closing down)

Would like to get a chest rig, but this is my half-arsed setup.

Mostly want to get a MUCH better belt.

I'm using Eagle AK and M4 FB chest rigs for my various rifle set ups with custom made Esstac yokes. I took an LMS Defense 1-day AK clinic back in march; the yokes were brand new that week, so the class was the first time I got to try one out. It made using the rig much more comfortable. I know the weight of 3 mags + odds/ends isn't anything to complain about, but the classic Eagle "X-straps" were just plain uncomfortable after time. The gear paired with the rifle and sling worked very well together.

AK rig when i first got it:

AK rig in current configuration (don't mind the grip ):

AR rig (pretty much the same):

the yoke:

Not pictured is a hydro carrier that attaches to the fastex buckles on my shoulders and secures to the waist strap on the bottom.

the sling is a Blue Force Gear Vickers. It's shared between my AR and AK until I can buy a 2nd. I've used this in multiple competitions on my AR, and on my AK in this training class and I can't find a single complaint.

i have my sling attached to the front loop with an H&K snap hook. on the rear, i have it looped around the sling swivel in the stock. to be honest, i don't like the way it's set up in the rear. i have to take my dominant arm out of the sling in order to shoot from my nondominant shoulder. i believe that if i did not have the monsterman grip installed (thanks a lot, CA), then i could have the sling installed closer to the rear end of the receiver around the thin part of the stock, and it would make carrying and transitioning shoulders a lot easier.

Are there any stores on SoCal that carry vests? I tried to find one last weekend and failed. I even visited a few Airsoft stores because they occasionally carry them.

Combat Ready in San Clemente

You can also do what I do and order a few that you are interested in and just send the ones back that you dont like. Check out SKD Tactical. You can also read reviews on sites like M4carbine.net and ar15.com in there tactical/Gear sections. Narrow it down to two rigs, order them both then send the other back.
