Sadly, I think the answer, at least for now is this:

Scuttlebutt I've heard, is that Livingston's attitude is much like Rupf's was. My sources are better than average, but not "inside info" by any means. YMMV.

BUT there was a CCW topic recently, on the Claycord blog site. One of the commenters posted that they had applied & received one, wasn't a hassle and if you didn't get one there must be a legit reason. Claimed he didn't have an inside connection. He also didn't specify which city and/or county he applied in and didn't respond to questions for further details.

I know there are fellow Calgunners that read/post on Claycord and I'm sure they're just as inclined to disbelieve this guy, as I am.

Still waiting for good news. Do we need to keep throwing $ at this problem
or will time be the avenger? -g

I am currently writing my good cause essay.

Do you guys think that I should include my training experiences in the essay?
Or is it bad by making me looked like a gun nut?

Should I include my previous training credentials when turning in the packages?

having my home broken in to last week, will this increase my chance of getting a ccw?

No. You can already carry legally inside your residence without any type of government permit.

All these calgun fundraisers and never any movement where it matters most

I would love to contribute when this gets going.

My argument is that what if they are in my home when I arrive home from work? You think the criminals are going to wait for me to open my safe?

There's nothing I can see that says you can't legally carry in a locked container and do a tactical entry into your home when you get there.

Just remember to bring your breaching shotgun too.. or just pay $25/mo for an alarm.

I'm beginning to think it's much easier to just become a CoCo Sheriff. If you've read the news they seem to accept anyone. . . it seems that even criminal behavior is not a disqualifier.

Alarm is 39$ a month which we got.
Locked in a container must be unloaded.
Takes time to unlock, slap mag in and rack slide. Can be crucial seconds i might not have.

I live in Moraga.
Served as a Seabee for 8 years.
Been to Iraq, got expert pistol, and rifle shot medals.
Funny how they trusted me to carry a m16, and a m9 to protect American citizens lives, and freedoms.
But don't trust me to carry a pistol to protect my life, and freedom.
Anything I can do to help, let me know.

Too much hassle and $$ to apply in CC County. I bought a home in the foothills as my primary residence.

Does anyone know if there are any current lawsuits filed for COCO? I have been contemplating applying in my city of Pinole but wanted to know if I should wait for "the right time"
Let's not give up yet.
Let me know how I can contribute to making CCC fair!

There are the cases that were argued at the 9th Circuit on 12/6/2012, when those decisions come out, they will, or may, affect the entire state...

FWIW, my uncle had his application rejected by the local police chief (guess who), and was told to apply with the sheriff (now the same guy who rejected him ). Anyway, he will be applying to the sheriff soon, if a miracle occurs will update all with the joyous news.

For clarity, my uncle's app has NOTHING to do with Calguns or the Sunshine op; he's been doing this on his own (I just found out).

Ok, so I'm going to apply for my ccw in cococo ASAP....lol
Just trying to get all my ducks in a row before I pull the trigger.
So far my points are;
I'm a small business owner.. A sole prop, work late hours, carry large sums of cash.
I'm ex military... ( Seabee) got my dd-214 with honorable discharge... Got expert pistol shot medal... Not sure if that will help.
I have 3 letters of reference. One from a oakland police officer, one from a contra costa county sheriff, and one from a friend.
I took the handgun safety course, and am going to take a ccw class next.....
Any pointers would be great.
Thx

He wasn't chuckling when he wrote you that letter did he? Regardless I wish you luck. Keep us posted on your progress.

COCOCO is one tough place to ccw from what I've been able to learn and while there has been issuance its a far cry from what it should be IMO.

I don't see much changing any time soon here in CoCo.
It sucks!

I was considering trying my luck, but after the owners of a local new FFL were denied I've kinda lost all hope.

Well, depends on their good cause.... but yeah, not too sure why you had any hope to start with.

Remember, FFL holders are not a special class of people that deserve a permit more than anyone else. Lots of them are actually pretty scummy people which proves that just about anyone w/o a Felony conviction can get an FFL as it's really just a license to make the state and feds money on the transactions. Don't believe me? Checkout how many big FFL's that were "working for the cause" have closed their doors while running away with people's money in the last few years. Or the ones that continually take money for guns they have no way of delivering and give the buyer the run around.

Cheers.
