The need for a creative Good Cause (GC) will soon be a thing of the past. You either have a stellar GC now and currently have a permit or you don't. If you don't, we'll be Shall Issue before your GC is approved; that is, unless you happen to live in one of the counties that currently accepts Personal Protection.

The ruling by the 9th circuit court of appeals is a victory but don't celebrate to quick, the 9th circuit court has also had more decisions reversed than any other federal circuit court of appeals.

Many other Federal Circuit Courts looked at California and sided with a Just Cause statement. the shall issue decision by 9th circuit court of appeals puts several federal circuit court of appeals at odds with one another. When this happens the US Supreme Court is likely to get involved for a final ruling with or with out an appeal to the US Supreme Court.

The most immediate question is whether en banc review is granted by the 9th. According to some [unreliable, as in i haven't read any primary sources] source, the county intends to file for en banc review shortly.

This is bad for us b/c a) it defers enforcement of the directive b) it delays appeal to SCOTUS (albeit I'm doubting the county wants to do that)

Although not a CGF lawsuit, Peruta changes the landscape considerably, and will hopefully mean that things start moving again. Scocca is presumably first.

Is there any time frame for the correction of the broken links? Or are they just going to leave the useless broken links in the important first sticky position?

If Peruta stands, there is no longer a need for any good cause statement. Self defense will suffice.

I have an appointment next month for Sacramento and I tried to get to the good cause statement by using the link. And then I tried every link on the page the first link took me to. I also tried the search function. Where have the good cause statements for Sacramento gone?

Sacramento is something akin to: "self-defense and defense of my family".

This may also help.

When I had permits in Mendocino and before that in Humboldt County, "Personal Protection" was good enough. Thank you for your response.
