Minor Possession Questions
Hey Calgunners,
I have a few questions regarding possession of my legally owned, CA compliant AR-15. In a few weeks I'm going on a road trip with some people I work with (not my parents) to a trade show. On the way back we plan to go shooting and offroading. My questions are: 1) Do I need some form of written parental permission to shoot my friends firearms (he said I did) if my parents are not present. 2) Can I bring my AR as well? (I will be driving with a carpool (over 18). Does he have to be in the vehicle whenever the firearm is being transported? Thanks. |

To be 110% safe, get a permission slip from your parents complete with a contact number. If any handguns will be present, make sure they give you permission to legally use them and be in possession of handgun ammunition as well.

+Handguns need to be locked in a secure container other than the glovebox (In not 21, so I cant own one anyway)
+Rifles do not need to be locked, but must be in the trunk in some form of case I'm still not sure if a minor can transport firearms by themselves, so if anyone can clarify, I would appreciate it. |

As long as you are 18 you can through an intra-familiar transfer. IE: parent-> child or grandparent -> grandchild. |
