6000 new memberships in the past 3 days, doubling the minimum needed. That's great! We can do more! Keep passing around to your friends!

Discounted memberships are available. Instructions are in the BA article.

I'm in.

Going to try and convince a few more people to sign up...

Even if I have to pay half or even the full cost of NRA membership
for some of them to join NRA for the first time.

So... we can make an Effort to Push Back against the Anti Gun Zealots
Demonizing the NRA and Gun Owners in general....

Or we can just stick our head in the Sand provided by the Mass Media
and Ignore the destruction of the 2nd Amendment, which I'm sure
would be shortly followed by dismantling the Bill of Rights...

Well, I went ahead and bought memberships for three new members. Alas, David Hogg wasn't one of them ... but he deserves special recognition as an inspiring fund raiser.

11,199 new memberships in the last 12 days. Dropping below the needed 1k per day. Please keep pushing forward and try to find new people to sign up.

With the recent news that NRA broke fundraising records in March, we are getting the message out. Now is not the time to quit!!

Yep. Keep nudging everyone you can think of that might be open
to joining, and make it as easy as possible by giving the direct links
in this thread, I even offer to pay half of the membership costs,
and in some cases will even pay for it all.

Two more people I know have agreed to join, and I have asked them
to look around in their social circles and find more recruits.

If every NRA member would recruit just ONE new member,
we would Double our ranks this year.

Having 10 Million organized NRA members holding the line against the
Anti-Gunners Assault on the Bill of Rights would insure no more Infringing
Gun Control Nonsense gets passed, and have enough political punch
to start taking back some of the ground we have lost.

That’s cheap.

Welcome to the fight !

Couple of things to note.

Look around in your social circles for anyone you can think of that might
be persuaded in joining the NRA.

Second, if you can afford it, throw some money to the NRA-ILA, they are
the ones who do tha Actual fighting in the Political & Legal arenas:

Quote:
Established in 1975, the Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) is the "lobbying" arm of the National Rifle Association of America. ILA is responsible for preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals in the legislative, political, and legal arenas, to purchase, possess and use firearms for legitimate purposes as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Once again, Thanks for stepping forward to help us hold the line.

i have never been an "organization" man and found many do not provide what they promise but I might change my mind and join for a year to see if this is just a social club or are they serious about fighting for rights no matter what it takes. Besides Hogg's picture makes me puke.

The NRA is one of the few organizations that fight for our 2A rights and get something done and actually have impact. There is a social aspect to the NRA for sure, but overall, we are very serious, and will fight, fight, fight to protect the right to bear arms as envisioned by our founding fathers.

The Second Amendment Foundation is also very good.

Other than that, almost everything else is mostly window dressing.

Be part of the solution and join the NRA and get involved. It is truly a grassroots organization.

27,817 new members in the last 26 days, since the drive began!! Definitely a bump from the NRA convention. We need to keep the pace and drive this home!!

Now averaging almost 1,070 new members each day!!

Glad we are keeping up with the needed totals...

However, I am actually getting disappointed with all the convoluted "reasons"
some Gun Owners are giving as an excuse not to join the NRA.

I mean, for God's Sake, getting some occasional NRA promotional mail,
a MINOR INCONVIENCE, (and which you can Opt-Out of) versus losing
your 2nd Amendment Rights, I can't believe I am hearing this weak-sauce
excuse from people....

Many Gun Owners just can't be bothered to lift a finger in Defense of
the 2nd Amendment, I guess they expect the rest of us to do all the
work for them...

Personally, I wish they'd scale back the paper mailings by default and put that money to more effective use. It can be excessive at times with multiple members in the household. Most of it goes in the trash without opening. I only look at the direct communication and discard the third party ads.

Current count is: 41,686 new members in the last 48 days.

Sad to say, looks like this effort is petering out: daily average is now down to ~ 868 registrations per day.

I think we need to start a kitty to donate memberships to those in need.

Not to worry. The situation is actually far better than it seems:

NRA Membership Soars Past The Six Million Mark
The Daily Caller. 5/28/2018
http://dailycaller.com/2018/05/28/nr...s-six-million/

Quote:
Even before North’s lofty goal, the group stated in April that it had a goal
to grow its ranks by 100,000 new members. One month later, it far
exceeded that.

“Well, they soared past that by 900,000,” writes Townhall’s Matt Vespa.
“The NRA, which touts its five million members, of which I have been a
proud one since becoming eligible to vote, is now a six million strong
organization.”

Thanks, Anti-Gunners: The NRA Is Now Six Million Strong
Townhall. 5/28/2018
https://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattve...trong-n2485029

So while it may be disappointing that the 100k Member Goal Website has
dropped below its goal to hit 100k, the overall membership increase has
far surpassed that.

And it gets better. Pew Research Center did a study in 2017 that showed
far more people consider themselves to be NRA members, or support
the NRA, than actual members, by a huge number, so when the NRA
claimed 5 million official members, the study showed 14 Million people
considered themselves members:

Remarkable Finding from Pew Survey
NRA-ILA. FRIDAY, JULY 7, 2017
https://www.nraila.org/articles/2017...rom-pew-survey
Quote:
Pew’s recent survey on firearm-related attitudes and experiences of U.S.
adults found – based on the percentage saying “yes” to the question
about whether they are NRA members –
that more than 14 million Americans consider
themselves NRA members.

The real NRA membership of about 5 million falls well short of this
measure, even accounting for any statistical error the survey produced.
So using the above metric, we can extrapolate that the NRA's influence
has grown to 16.8 Million people who support, or consider themselves
NRA members, assuming the ratio stays the same, and even if it did not,
the NRA has had a huge increase in the people who support it.

89,682 in 88 days. Over the 1k/day threshold once again!!

Hopefully the discounted lifetime membership keeps the new accounts rolling in over the remaining 12 days!!

Only a little over 3 days left, and the total stands at 93,989.

Still time to get the last 6,011 new memberships in and close out this effort as a success!!

It may be a slow roll, but remember how this started: as a statement that we could out-recruit the antis with longer-term membership. Yes, the NRA surpassed 6MM members this year already, but this effort is much more transparent and shows we can scale up our fight as necessary.

Please chip in if you already haven't, and thank you!!
