Reading Identification Marks on Franchi Shotguns
I am new to this forum and need some help on how to interpret the identification marks on a Franchi over & under 20 ga /chambers 3" mod/full . Markings on barrel S.P.A luigi Franchi RRFSCIA Made in Italy. Under the forearm barrel is marked ACOIAD DOGNE SUPEROROMAID 15.9 15.8 . Action area, pheasant on ingraved on the right side, and a partridge on the left. I would like to find out the year made, value and model. I have searched the web with no success. Any help to identify this Franchi shotgun would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Take a better look at the markings on the barrel....RRFSCIA is BRESCIA....a town in Italy which has been the hub for most italian guns for over 200 years. ACOIAD....can it be ALCIONE--- a popular Franchi model You got me on the DOGNE SUPEROROMAID......."superoposta" (spell check...might be spelled using Italian ebonics)....Italian for O/U "Browning Superposed" Browning O/U A pic will help greatly Last edited by Thefeeder; 07-15-2008 at 8:31 PM.. |
