I assume the Thompson Machine single shot lower is off-list, but does anyone know for sure?

You can always check the list that matters, the ban list. Here, page 2: http://www.calguns.net/caawid/flowchart.pdf

Well, I got all excited over this :

only to be told it canot be shipped to CA. If the above quote is still true, WTF? I searched this forum and read everyhting I could find, and I even saw it in more recent posts about the Colt CAR-A3 HBAR 24" Accurized rifle being off list, therefore legal in CA. I must be missing something.

Xeno, this list needs to be updated to show that not all DPMS A-15 receivers are off-list. Some A-15 receivers say Panther Arms on them.

Wow... please let this die.... there are WAY too many new receivers to add to this list.

If there is actually enough interest, I may update it... but when I created it in 2006, I was secretly giving a list so the DOJ, in case they wanted to open a new registration period, could easily find a list as well as so that people knew which they could buy now and then later convert to full Reg'd features because "they'll be soon added to the list".

So this was basically rubbing the Off-List scene in the DOJ's face. But if people wish I'll try to update it, however there are so many one-offs from Spikes, for example, that there's no way I could list even a good deal of what is 'off-list'.

the reason I posted is that people still refer to this list. Perhaps just edit it with a strike-through of everything.

yup, those were the days.

since there are hundreds of AR manufacturers out there, it is easier to just point to the List and say, don't buy one of those.

Please bare with me here. Just to make things perfectly clear to me, as long as it is not listed on the flow chart then it is legal? I found this one here.

They don't ship to CA, but I could always ship to someone out of the state. How would that work? Could I bring it back and somehow register it?

I realize that these questions are growing outside the bounds of this particular thread, but I just want to be clear on this issue. Thank you for any help !!!

Because, as it's been stated, there are too many that are legal. Far more than illegal.

Why don't we get rid of the penal code, and create a list of actions that are legal?

The "banned" list will never increase, hence it will never need to be updated. Therefore, it should be the only reference.

Simple... if it's not banned, it's legal

Probably not, because I bet it says "DMPS Panther".

And the Kasler list bans "DPMS Panther (all)"

Specifically it says "DPMS Panther Arms". What are your thoughts?

my thought is that the LR-308 is a listed lower, due to it having the DPMS Panther wording on it. The off-list list is incorrect. the OP even said to let this thread die.

So if this thread dies, will there be another to replace it with correct "off-list" lowers?

+1 if i read that right..."they're" meaning the government powers that be...

I'm no conspiracy theory advocate but i can see what's up the road a ways from the news and it ain't gonna be an easy row to hoe if'n you have, or want to own, a semi-auto ANY KIND OF FIREARM.

with what's going on in Mexico, Arizona, California, the current white house administration and the UN...i believe we better prepare for the worse and hope for the best...sooner or later, some how, some way, the paranoia of semi-auto firearms will overcome good rational thinking amongst legislators...they WILL make a move to ban/confiscate ALL semi-auto's...

for one thing, why do you think Barry is appointing "CZARS"? simply to avoid the scrutiny of congressional approval...and...they answer to no one but Barry...

be prepared...

there is no need for an "off-list" list and it would be impossible to keep up to date, with new manufacturers coming out all the time, and model names changing all the time. Basically look at it as all lowers are off-list unless specifically listed by CADOJ.
