Default is it legal to posess glock 22 in cali?

i notice tactical solutions is selling used glock 22's (ex leo) with 15 rd clips - i checked the doj list and it lists 22's as legal to sell - but its not legal to posess a pistol with a 15 rd mag? - very confusing, can you buy it and then put a 10 rd. mag in it and be legal? any help appreciated -

There is nothing illegal about possessing the gun or the mags.

THe first question is, DO they ship to CA? You have to talk to a rep about sending the magazine as a rebuild kit or not sending it at all.

Yes.

The gun is legal, the 15 rd magazines are not legal to SELL, MANUFACTURE, or IMPORT into the great socialist state of the PRC. My glock 22C is completely legal, and I have both 10 rd and 15 rd magazines for it.

If you are not LEO they will most likely put in 10 round "clips" for you and they will keep the 15 rounders. Unless they are willing to send you 15 round rebuilt kits.

Yes, 3rd gen G22 Glocks and G22 rtf2 Glocks are legal to purchase in California through FFLs. G22 in Gen4 cannot be legally purchased through an FFL in California unless you are a Law Enforcement Officer.
The gun itself is not "illegal" per say only the direct sale of the Generation 4 to an average Joe is.

You can get your hands on a Gen 4 Glock if 1. You find one for sale by someone who already owns one. You can have it transferred to you via privet party transfer 2. If your dad or grandpa lives outside the state he can buy one for you and send it to you via intra family transfer, roster exempt.

Your good to go on a Gen3 or RTF2 Glock 22 though.......

I could care less about the use of the word clips but you know how that word gets attacked on this forum.

Its a good deal depending on how much your FFL is charging for the transfer. Keep the clips disassembled and use them out-of-state or when SHTF

From my experience, if the seller is located out of state, they will most likely tell you they don't have any 10 rounders in stock and will have to send it to you without a mag. So figure in the cost of a magazine if they do this and are not willing to reduce the price.

A little thread jack.

On another forum, too many years ago, this little gem came to life.

A person was stopped by law enforcement, got engaged in conversation, where it was mentioned they owned a Glock 22. The LEO was unaware they made a Glock in .22 LR...

End of Threadjack.

ok so now that that's done........nothing illegal about the gun, just can't be sold to you with +10rd mags. There are plenty of 10rd mags here in the PRK though once you buy it, and if you're lucky, the guy who has it now can disassemble the mags and send them as rebuild kits for your legally owned pre-ban mags if you have any already.............mags.

and to your credit you only said clips once in the OP.......still, one offense is enough around here sometimes. Hope you had as much fun as i did

I actually witnessed something like this at my local shop. Customer:"I'm looking for something for home defense." "Well we have the Glock 22s, they're pretty popular" said the clerk. "Well I'd like something bigger than a .22!" said customer. Funny, some of the things you hear in a gun shop.

A "15 round mag" that is a "rebuild" is NOT a magazine. It is magazine PARTS. A 15 round magazine that is *disassembled* is no longer a magazine, it becomes a "rebuild kit," which is legal to buy, sell, and possess.
It is illegal per current CA law to sell, give, or manufacture magazines of over 10 rds, magazines which are *assembled.*
