92FS back in 1990. I sold it for a Colt Gov't Model around 1995/1996. Dabbled heavily with various 1911's the next 10 years or so.
I've had a few other 92's since then including a 92G Elite which I definitely should have held onto. I still have a 92FS that I acquired recently. I love the 92FS for all the ways its different from my other favorite auto, the Glock 9mm. They're polar opposites and appreciate both for what they are. First new gun I bought from a LGS. Browning High Power in 1982. I still have it and used it in informal combat matches, EDC and today a favorite range gun. One of two that I will never sell. |

My first handgun, bought it about 20 years ago, when Guns and Ammo did a cover story and talked about how innovative it was, being a synthetic stocked handgun. Never regretted it, it's been a rock. Sure, the aesthetics are only slighly less ugly than a Glock, but it has never had a FTF or FTE, super easy to take down for cleaning and it's reasonably accurate. The trigger isn't so great but I will always keep it and shoot it.

Colt Government Model .45 for $199. It was a piece of crap like most 1911's out of the box. A couple months later I traded it on a Damn Wesson, which was also a piece of crap that I kept for several years before I unloaded it on a coworker for $125. I told him it was a piece of crap but he wanted it anyway.

Springfield XD 45 tactical. Still have it and will probably always keep it, in case I ever need a throw away gun, because it was real cheap.

Ruger Single Six bought new in 1982 from B5 in west Covina for about $160.00.
Sold it around 1987 when I needed the $. I regret selling it to this day. Horrible decision on my part. I now own a Heritage Rough Rider. I cannot bring myself to spend the $ for a new Single six.

Ruger new model blackhawk, 357 stainless steel. It was 207.00 delivered to my house.
It's been a flawless gun and still looks brand new.

My first pistol purchase was last year. Springfield Armory 1911 stainless Mil Spec. I don't see myself getting rid of it anytime soon especially after the work I had put into it.

After doing a lot of research on handguns for women, I went with the Bersa Thunder 380 for my first handgun. (lots of hype for the "smaller" calibers for women).
It turned out to NOT be a keeper. While I liked the look, I hated the way it shot. Too snappy for my wrist. I much prefer 9mm and 45acp. Glocks, Sigs, and others make me happy these days.

CZ 75 compact satin nickel finish. Bought almost 10 years ago for $450. Still in my safe, heavy enough there's almost no recoil. Grear shooter. Thought about selling or trading it but just can't picture my collection without it. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk |

More love for the Trooper MKIII...Bought in 1979 because I used to shoot my brother's all the time. He finally asked me if I like it so much, why didn't I buy my own before they rise more in price...Ordered a 6",electroless nickel. Loved that gun and kept it on my bar at home in a custom oak presentation box. Well, 10 years later I decided I needed a 1911 so I sold it off to a coworker and bought a Delta 10MM in SS then a Gold Cup. As time went on, I really missed that Trooper and in about 1999 I was browsing at Bullseye Guns in Placencia and old Bill (RIP) was stocking some new/used guns into the case..and what do I see? A brand new,6" Nickle MKIII with box ,bag and hangtags..He told me he just acquired it from an estate ( these had been discontinued years before) The serial number was about 20 off my original gun. I bought it in a heart beat for $325. I've fired one box of ammo thru it...Now its a safe queen...just too pretty to shoot

Yeah that's the range! Here I was, thinking I was shooting farther all this time and it was only 16 yards... Definitely need to find a range that goes out farther, I want to see how well I can do at the 20 and 25.

First handgun I legally bought with my own money and did myself was an XD9 subcompact.
Sold it. Kinda regret it because it was my first, and got it with my best friend who got me into buying guns who I shot with a lot and and moved away and I dont see anymore. Good for the wife or anyone with small hands. Didn't care for it myself though, or enjoy it much. Slide was beefy for how small it was and felt a tad "top heavy", literally no rail space for anything, and my hands felt too big for it. Was pretty much pointless as a plinker being a 3" Although my first handgun I was given too, before I was even old enough to legally have was a gen 2 glock 19 and an old Charles Daly 1911 that ran pretty damn well.,

It was a hi point or should I say a very low point and definitely a regret. The only positive was that the frame cracked while shooting, I learned my lesson , sent it back and got a new one which I sold for $150 I had paid 15 years ago.
