Default Colt prices

I just purchased a collection from an estate. There are a some doubles in the collection that I think I'll get rid of. I'm curious of the values they would fetch in the California market. I don't care about top dollar, just curious about a fair price and quick sell. These guns are like new, no box. Or should I shut up and keep them? The paperwork was so thick, staples wouldn't hold, I had to have two packets.

B70 Colt 1911 Govt model.

Colt ace of the same vintage, late 70s early 80s.

Why sell them? I know eveytime that i sold something that I could never buy again I felt pretty ****ay after the initial happiness of cash wore off.

Then again, it's Christmas and I'd be happy to get an early gift. Just saying....

I abide by that way of thinking, unless I have doubles or triples.

They look like they are worth $10 each, but I'll give you 20.

If must sell, sell them IN California, you'll be doing a lot of us a big act of kindness.

Good luck.

I say, if you've got doubles or triples, sell them to someone in CA who will appreciate them. Don't go the Gunbroker route, keep them in state!

I'd be interested in the 1911 if you were to sell it.

This is funny. I am not selling these out of state. I'm just looking for a ball park on price.

I had a Colt ACE mfg in 1978 that was fun but picky on what .22s you fed it. I let it go to fund my divorce. It spent more time in the safe then on the range. At $800 maybe even I could afford it now. But depending on who sees it, it may be a $1200 to $1600. You do not see them too often and it is a must have, I think, for a Colt collector.

Good luck and thanks for sharing.

Thanks Che

I got seven shotguns, defenders, 870s, a nice mix. Two M&P 9s, three glocks, a Winchester 22 that's pretty old, an MVP patrol, a peacemaker wmr, a predator in 25-06, the 1911s, a few pythons.

They are all in jail till whenever I decide to pick them up.

I am just throwing out an opinion as someone who will most likely not be interested in buying any your selling if you do decide to sell but- without boxes you won't get the premium money. Even at 98%. It's a really nice shooter at that point and I'd imagine would sell as such. I've bought a couple colts that were pristine without boxes and a couple with some miles on them with matching serialed boxes. Those faux wood paper boxes and styrofoam inserts are worth some money. Great score by the way.

Thank you. I have lots of Colts nib, it is unfortunate that some of these didn't come with the box. Thankfully the pythons did.

First please sell them in CA, its hard as hell to find a non abused Colt S70 in this state or at least in Nor cal by me.

As for price start at $1500 and go up from there! You could price them at 2500 and they would sell eventually at that price in CA 1500-2000 they will probably sell quickly - based on what I've seen and not seeing photos of your guns.

I would check Gunbroker for completed sales (not asking prices). Add at least 10% for a California premium. That should get you in the ballpark...
