Edged weapon collection

I am thinking of adding to my edged weapon collection.

I have a Cold Steel katana, a few spears, a Windlass Gladius and a Cold Steel Trench Axe. What other edged weapons do you think are good buys that are worth getting?

I like all of my zero tolerance blades, my DPX gear stuff, and I even have a couple of brous blades and benchmade knives I like. I think my next will be a Spyderco. I say just find a blade you like with a good warranty and go for it. My EDC is a dpx gear triple black hest folder. Feel naked without it here in Europe lol.

A Kukri of a more modern design and high-quality made.
If you like Cold Steel I'm sure they make a few, as so do Ka-Bar and others.
I think they make a good all-around camping / outdoor tool.
They can do the work of a small axe, a small sword, a machete etc.
but seeing that you've listed a few of those things as items ( the axe and the sword) you have already.

Maybe for you I would recommend getting a few of a daily quality folders you like.
Something that your fast with opening and getting it into action and has a secure lock but nothing super expensive that you're overly concerned about breaking or losing.

If you have a few of the them (The same model that you like and you used to) and you missed placed one for a little while you can just substitute one of the spares so that you have a knife every day without a worry about it.

a +1 for Khukuri. Though instead of modern design, I'd say a Himilayan Imports Khukuri.

I also have a lot of fun with balisongs, though you can't carry them in CA. Benchmade or BRS if you can get one.

I'm just joking around, I'm sure everyone who buys those types of axes,
knows they're not really "real" axes.

A lot of us buy items that we won't really use that much and the money is better served on a nice daily carry knife or a few of them.

That said,
I have a pretty sick katana ("battle ready", good steel, that could take some punishment) that I like to practice with even though I will probably never have any need to use it.
( My mind starts daydreaming of the zombie apocalypse.)

An old school puukko before they went to using laminated steel in them.

When a thing becomes standard for hundreds of years there's usually a reason for it.

At about 12:30 this fellow shows his knives signed by the maker with the blood groove which is what i mean by the older style knife blades.

A puukko is a hunting knife and the pommel is made so that it can be held point down in a fist and pound down with the palm of your other hand to split the pelvis etc.
The blade is thicker than it seems (almost chisel like) also to accommodate this use.

My Model 8 is over 30 yrs old. Had a custom sheath made for it but only used it a few times when fishing.
My Model 14 & Model 16 Special Fighter are safe queens.
OP you need a Randall. Once you get one you won't be able to stop at one.

Haven't opened my wallet yet for an Albion, Randall, real work axe, Tomahawk, etc. Would be wasted on me anyway, not much of an outdoorsman.

I do enjoy the look of "WTF is wrong with you" when my friends see my increasing collection of edged weapons.
