Thinking about it......sips coffe...

Probably the biggest POS and waste of $1000 cash at B&B Sales was

a 1911 Hardballer by AMT. rough finish on internals, jam-o-matin with round nose hardball. No way to keep the rear sights from flying off. What a POS.

I gave it to a friend who knew of the problems.

Other perfectly fine guns that I traded away or sold
1. Walther PPK. The slide would cut my hand
2. Ruger single action .44 Magnum. Very accurate but the trigger guard (square)
would cut my knuckle. Ouch. Switched to Model 29 Smith....
3. Still have a Zip .22 but it doesn't run perfectly.
4. Way back I had a SIG that had feeding issues. Sold it and still not a fan
of SIG.

Be well

Bob

Russian Makarov.

Fit and finish were horrible, and it jammed constantly. I think it was a .380.

Anything diamondback, had a db9 and 380 for a couple months. The 9 wouldn't feed worth a damn, tried a dozen different brands of Ammo. Sent it back for repair, then sold it without firing it again, was done w it... 380 wasn't as bad but picky on ammo (like only are one brand) or it'd get light strikes. Figured it wasn't a good defensive gun and dumped it too. Too bad, their size was awesome, but apparently pushed the envelope too far.

PW 87 - Chinese lever action 12 Gauge. I disassembled it and polished the action. The tooling was terrible. Still won't feed right. Oh yeah, did I say "Chinese?" Just making sure.

My late mode SW22-A1 does not like the Federal blue box value pack 550 ammo. It fails to ignite > 10% of the time. All my other 22's shoot perfectly with it. The SW shoots all other ammo flawlessly, even Golden Bullets and Thunderbolts so as long as I avoid that combination, everything is good.

I had a Firestar M-40 that malfunctioned constantly
I had one earlier that ran like a champ, but I sold it to my brother-in-law
A few years passed and one appeared at my lgs so I snapped this one up to my eternal regret as it was a lemon.

Kahr pm9 - one heck of a jam machine but shoots so nice it makes a nice range toy.

Rossi 357 lever action - one heck of a jam machine but shoots so nice it makes a nice range toy.

Yugo SKS - one heck of a jam machine but shoots so nice it makes a nice range toy.

I think the state of CA is happy them Yugoslavians made their SKS single shot by that POS gas valve.

Also, Tactical Solutions .22 Glock conversion never worked for me - a real POS!

I believe you. It was hit or miss with the Hardballers. I had a friend long ago who had an Arcadia mfg model that acted the same way.

I still have my Covina mfg model, and it runs well, only after many modifications: blued steel sear pin, hammer pin, thumb safety, hammer strut, and extractor, and I throated the barrel. The Covina guns were noted for soft stainless steel. I bought it used for $150 with 2 factory mags, and when I got it home I tried it cocked and locked (empty mag/chamber) and when the trigger was pulled both the hammer and thumb safety dropped. After disassembly I found a bent sear pin.

After the mods it has run flawlessly for the past 25 years.

Jim
