Do I need a guard card to take this class? -Technically no but you need your guard card paperwork before you can submit your gun card. Most people send one big packet. 3.) But if you need to get your guard card Live Scan, get the Guard with firearms endorsement and you can you 1 LiveScan for Gun and Guard card. 4.) What's the course of fire? I use the BSIS course of fire since it's a State mandated course of fire and Sac County doesn't have a specific course of fire. 15 yards- 6 rounds- 30 seconds- Two hand standing. 7 yards- 6 standing, 8 kneeling, 45 seconds. Depending on your revolver it's usually 6, reload, 6, reload 2. 7 yards- 6 rounds 10 seconds- Two hand standing, one hand, or kneeling. 7 yards- 12 rounds- 25 seconds, 6 strong, reload, switch hands, 6 weak. 5 yards- 6 rounds- groups of 3- 4 seconds (FIRE! 3, low ready, FIRE! 3, low ready) 3 yards- 6 rounds- groups of 2- 3 seconds. Controlled pairs basically.
