I seem to have been able to fully pay for mine. (^_^)
If things don't work out, I hope I can get a refund on that.

Just saw this thread. The state is going to realize that they "stepped in it" when they find out how many people have ordered a Title 1. Shame on the state for not following their own laws!

Thank you for being a part of this process. We look forward to shipping every order, but if it falls through, the deposits are refundable at any time.

Truthfully, this is what it costs us to build quality products in the US, especially when there is a dealer and distributor network. We can always improve efficiency, and as we do, we have lowered our prices through the years.

We can offer a billet variant, but it will cost more. I'm guessing that was not your desire.

Think of your favorite budget gun manufacturer. Now think of what they have done to challenge the status quo. Attorneys cost money, and so does quality. Even so, part of our desire is to improve the options for everyone.

When the dust settles, I hope we can earn your business, but you might be able to make your own Title 1 or perhaps some import brand can make you a half price version. Either way, Californians should have this right now. Unfortunately we don't and that's why we are taking deposits.

I get it. I DO own Franklin products, and will say they have always been top notch. Innovative, solid products that I am happy to buy. I'll pay up at times, but I just look at longevity, and want my lower to be the thing that lasts. BUT, like I said, I get it. More props to everyone in Californistan that is still doing what they do to keep and bear arms. Well done Franklin.

I'm confused, what does the deposit get you? The ability to be grandfathered in if they ban it? Of just a reserve spot to buy one when released? I mean I'm in to support FA for their work, and $5 is a nothing but the option to be grandfathered in is worth it alone.

Also does putting a stock on this denote "Manufacturing an assault weapon"?

Edit: "By placing a refundable deposit, Californians have an opportunity to demonstrate their intent to purchase Title 1™ prior to the ban date of July 1, 2020. It is impossible to tell what opportunities will be provided those that order ahead of the imposed ban date, however, those that do not place an order will certainly not have any options."

I'm in! Keep us posted please

If it has a stock on it, then it's a "a weapon designed or redesigned, made or remade, and intended to be fired from the shoulder and designed or redesigned and made or remade to use the energy of the explosive in a fixed cartridge to fire only a single projectile through a rifled bore for each single pull of the trigger," or in other words a rifle, and the assault weapon laws do regulate rifles. The raison d'ętre for this weapon is because it's not a pistol and it's not a firearm; it's other. The definitions of assault weapons in Penal Code section 30515 apply to semiautomatic centerfire "rifles", semiautomatic pistols, and semiautomatic shotguns.

Why are people in such a rush to buy guns that will be registered as assault weapons, with the very large assumption that DOJ will ever change the DES to allow their purchase in the first place?

All I need to know is that it can get my name in a lawsuit against the government for doing something possibly illegal and to cost them money for committing such an illegal action. I don't care what the specs are.

Consider it a $5 refundable "donation" to a good cause if nothing else.

The question you should ask is "Why are they trying so desperately to not allow people to buy them even to the point of committing possibly illegal actions to prevent people from buying legally configured guns?"

Because unless the CA AW ban is canceled by the supreme court, this will be the only opportunity for most people to have a so called assault weapon in the state; without having to go featureless or fixed mag.

There was a VERY brief time period when FA allowed the full check out process. I was able to get in within the timeframe and paid for the Title 1 in its entirety.

Love FA and their products, I have 3 of them so far and will continue to support their efforts!

There was a reason why that happened. The state led me to believe that the DES would change. Then they pulled the rug out.

Not sure why the system is having problems, but it seems to be an issue with cell phone purchases. Is that your situation?

Just a thought...can these be “sold” or transferred in CA like a normal (lol) firearm in the unlikely event we would actually get one?

...if yes, I may add two more.

Yes, but not if a new AW law passes.
