Two weeks since the class. I now have some components and feel
confident after reloading 45 acp on my own.
Got to watch the hand loading of primers more carefully though, one went in upside down
Other than that, all is good.
Thanks for the lesson.

believe it or not this happens a lot when using the single stage presses. Its a common mistake just keep an eye on the primers

To safely remove the upside down primer. Place it upsidedown with a drop of oil or WD-40 on the primer for a few days. Then you can remove with your sizing die.

Could I be put down as a "maybe"? I don't have a set schedule and typically work weekends. I would love to learn to load 6.5x55 Swede(I have everything but powder and primers) but my seating die needs to be sent back to the manufacturer.

I have new dies I bought a year ago but my seating die, specifically the seater stem, seems to be stuck & it won't adjust up or down so I'm sending it in for warranty. Thank you, though.

I took your name off the list. Sorry about that.

We still have a lot of spots open so if you have considered getting into reloading this is the perfect opportunity to give it a shot.

I will be there for sure. I have work in Chino Hills at 4:30pm so 8am-1pm or so should be plenty of learning material.

I have my own components & dies for 9mm & .38 special. I would just need a small handful of large rifle primers and some kind of powder suitable for 6.5x55(Oh, I forgot about my seater die problem. )

If you want I will bring my LCT which is set up for 45 acp currently. New reloaders should be exposed to the LCT if they want to start out making pistol loads...

Any plans for the next one? A continuation of what we had except mostly just loading & troubleshooting. Maybe a precision rifle or progressive reloading workshop as mentioned earlier?

Any word on a class happening in or near the San Fernando Valley area. I'm very interested in learning to reload. I just picked up a book ABC's of reloading and would love to attend a class before making purchases of equipment. Thanks!

Any chance of another beginner's class? I'm about 15min from the Lake Matthews location.

I'm in the process of collecting equipment and components necessary to reload for .45acp, .223, and .308.

Struggling to build my inventory on a shoestring budget, but things are coming together thanks to forum marketplace deals.

Seems like I missed both workshops and I live very near this area.

Did an I.E. Reloaders Club ever get off the ground?

When is the next planned workshop/reload party?

Please add me to the list for a PM... thanks!

Thanks for the lesson.

Knock it out.

Hey get this, I SOMEHOW loaded up a 300MP 44 mag load and the primer either backed out on its own or I did not seat it enough.

THE PRIMER WAS STICKING OUT OF THE BACK OF THE SHELL ABOUT A MM or SO. THE SHELL DID NOT STAND ON ITS OWN, IT WOULD FALL OVER.

Know what I did? I loaded it in the deagle, let the bolt go and no slamfire, so I SHOT it. The result was a shot that worked well AND the primer was seated in the shell after it ejected...

I can't believe how sloppy some of my earlier rounds were. I would never let that get off the press by my standards today, but it was weird.

:flickcig: I aint that inviting now am I?

I had one go in sideways a week or so ago. I didn't notice it doing that on the way up but did explain why it was so hard to seat

I just destroyed 3 primers the other night and I was only priming .45 acp brass on the press. Dunno how it happened but it seemed to cave them in sideways, but this was on a Lee turret with the safety prime and all that. IMPOSSIBLE...
