Default Rifle Sweepstakes Drawing

The drawing for the rifle featured in this thread will be held today, June 06, 2010 at the Vallejo Gun Show at Noon. The CGN Booth is going to stream the drawing live.

Look for a post below on where to view the live feed.

This is how it's going to work.

The Booth has a tumbler filled with yellow sweepstakes tickets. Each sweepstakes entry generated one yellow ticket. The tickets are numbered, and each number corresponds to a spreadsheet that I have and that one of the members of the Booth has.

One of the members of the booth will draw one yellow ticket from the tumbler. They will check it against their spreadsheet and post the winner in this thread. Then they will draw another ticket as an alternate in the unlikely event that the winner cannot take possession of the rifle.

So get set! The winner will be drawn today!

So when you guys say someone that paid with their checking account won. Does this mean they sent a check in or payed via paypal or gunpal with their checking account?

Shouldn't the name have been there regardless?

I would assume the name was on it but maybe not the CalGuns nickname. I hope it was me! I paid with a check sent from my bill pay account.

Not necessarily. Sometimes it was just an account number attached to the spreadsheet entry. We thought that it would be a bad idea to post someone's checking account number.

No?

I venture to guess, that since that person may have mailed in their check... in the interest of identity security, full names and numbers were not distributed in the spreadsheet. I for one, welcome that fact. Unfortunately that rules me out as a winner. lol

But why would they have put their checking account number on the spreadsheet instead of just putting their name?

Exactly.

That just doesn't even make any sense at all. I mean if they paid with a check there had to be a name otherwise how on earth would you notify someone only knowing a checking account number?

The spreadsheet shows some names, but other entries only show the last 4 digits of checking acct or CC#. They have a control # and raffle ticket # associated with them, we'll have to leave it up to Ben to notify the winner since the winning entry only shows a 4 digit # instead of a name. I had hoped that a name would win and we would be able to figure out who the CGN'er was that belongs to the name . . . but no such luck. Have to wait for Ben to announce/notify the winner associated with the winning #.

Some lines on the spreadsheet didn't have names attached. They only had cc numbers or checking account numbers.

Since I did not have access to the transaction info I could not assign names to those transactions.

The transaction info is private information. Disclosing it to me would have potentially violated a couple of Federal and State laws.

We'll try to have the winner's name posted in a bit but no guarantees. Ben is sick with the flu and I don't expect him to be terribly responsive.

This was slapped together a bit. Once josh contacts me with the numbers I will send him the winner's phone and after they've been notified we'll announce it. Fever of 101.7, I'm going back to bed.

All in due time. Right now I am sending money to CGF monthly and the budget is tight so when I have a few spare bucks I will.
