Default CZ Kadet2 conversion to 22 caliber

I asked about this once before and cannot find any answers so forgive me if a dupe...I'm interested in a CZ Kadet 2 conversion kit to .22 caliber...I understand they may need a bit of custom filing or stoning for a proper fit...any comments? I'm not real skilled with custom fitting of hand tools and would hate to create problems..thanks

It’s possible you may need to.

You would have to file the Kadet on a couple points it contacts whatever CZ frame you plan to use it on.

Mine required minor filing for my SP-01. It’s really not that invasive. Whatever you do don’t file the FRAME.

Don't worry about the filing... it's easy and straightforward. If you don't have one, pick up a really small file (mini rasp, maybe?). I had the same hesitation, but it's pretty obvious where on the Kadet slide you need to file. The slide assembly will slide onto the frame easily, then hang up between the two little tabs on each side of the slide. File a bit, then try again, file some more, repeat until it fits.

The Kadet on my 75B is one of the best .22s I have! Liked it so much that I picked up another 75 so I can leave the Kadet on my first.

I've had 4 kits, and none of them ever needed filing.

I had to file the two little nubs on the kit so that it would fit my SP01. Nothing to it. Just take your time. I recommend this needle nose file kit from Harbor freight. Cost you about 5 bucks and it will get the job done.

I was just on another site and they were going into detail on how you must run a 15 or 17 pound mainspring to have a 100% ignition. Well I must have missed that memo as I run a CGW pro kit in two of my CZs. The blue spring of that kit is a 13#. I canít remember ever having a light strike on either of those two guns. In fact I canít remember any with my bone stock CZs either. IMO it is much more about the ammo you use. Iíve had those stove pipe issues but again it came down to the brands. Truthfully I think I just lucked out by picking the Armscor stuff. Zero skill at all!! That being said if I had to change the mainspring(s) every time I anted to shoot the Kadet 2 kit I would. It only takes a short time and it is endless fun.

I have never had to change a thing on mine, spring, slide, etc. It is the most reliable 22 I have including Buckmark.

I bought mine used and installed it with no issues on the SP01. It did not come with the second slide release for the P01 so I contacted CZ and they are sending me one.

It's expensive, and you can buy some 22's for less but you won't have the same fun factor. This kit makes for an accurate and reliable 22lr.

The best thing I ever did to my CZ75 in .40 was put a Kadet kit on it. No filing was necessary and fit right on the frame.

Default Kadet kit

I put about 200 rounds thru my kadet kit during my first time at the range with it, and had about 20 fail to ejects. The casing would always get stuck between the next chambered round and the frame. Will this issue resolve itself after a "break in" period or did I get a lemon?

Just make sure that you file the kit and NOT the frame. If you screw up its a $400 mistake versus a $600 + Redros a new weapon.

No skills here either, but it was a piece of cake! Mine took literally 5 minutes and that was being super ocd about it.
Kadet2's not cheap and often not easy to find... But definitely worth it! Reliable, Accurate, plus CZ quality. Enjoy!

I got tired of waiting for the new shipment of CZ Kadet 2 conversion.
The Kadet 2 would have fit the short dust cover CZ's like the PCR and the 75 B, but I saw that CZ Custom Shop had conversion kits for the Shadow 2 and the SP-01, different than the Kadet 2 conversion because they are a full size slide dedicated to each gun model.
I have an extra SP-01 so my decision was to buy the SP-01 conversion,
it is amazing! a bit steep in price but apparently popular, they are out of stock already.
