Do you have a time frame when these might be released?

Just a suggestion, but all of these devices should be named something innocuous, pleasant, or outright liberal sounding. Take a page out of Newsome's book, like his "safety for all" bill.
Something like Safety Switch, or Unicorn Button, or Magazine Impairment Button. Make it hard for these apples in Sac to ban something that's being promoted as ultimate safety. Ya know?

Agree. Truly excellent idea. Maybe the... Pranayama button (a yoga term).

To the OP = I did get a chance to handle it at SHOT. I liked it a lot.

The only draw back with these things is you are limited to 10 rd magazines.

Featureless you can use your legally acquired standard capacity mags.

This and the fact that whenever it is that it goes into effect, none of us will have legally grandfathered standard mags anymore.

The suspense, itís killing me lol.
I am curious with the killswitch does it release the mag when the receiver opens or simply allow the user to depress the mag release?

I am leaning towards the JT model for now as there is no change to the magazine release mechanism.

I want to see more details about the alternative first-that $30 difference in price has me standing by but the JT unit is impressive.

remember that their unit does also come with a Maglock device so the price might just work out. But we plan to sell just the pin alone so you can choose which system you use.

I was going to ask if yours was a system or component purchase. Thanks for clearing that one up.

I'm in for one! I have a battle arms quick release pin on a pistol, and I don't like it that much. It isn't very fast, since you have to release your grip and pull the pin. And the way it "holds" the upper from pivoting away isn't that secure, it only works about half the time for me. If I can work it as well a you do in the video, I might even switch over a featureless rifle too.

"all of these devices should be named something innocuous, pleasant, or outright liberal sounding"

Next post with link to product: "the HELLFIGHTER"

lol so much for that.

But really, both products look promising. Protohyp has been driving development HARD in the last few months and it looks like the kill switch is gonna be a winner. Gotta get production up to sell them though!

Hey guys.

Honestly I'm not in a hurry. I mentioned to C.W.M.V. that i'm really testing the integrity of the pin itself.

As AEtrane has mentioned i have been running and drilling hard and the last few weeks have been dropping the rifle and kicking it around in the 'open' position. I haven't been happy with the results on the pin because of the amount of material that has been taken away. I dont want to knock JT's pin but they put the channel for the take down pin along this area where there is less material and we haven't done that and under my stress tests I have less than satisfactory results. I won't put anything out that i'm not exactly happy with.

keep in mind though that most of my testing most people wouldn't do to their rifles but if there is an expectation that these will end up on Daniel Defense production rifles Id rather scrap the project and move on.

My feelings won't be hurt if you get the JT pin. First to market is first to win.

^ and it's stuff like this that makes me want to buy yours even more. What mag lock systems does the kill switch work best with? I was looking at the cross armory safe mag and wondered if it's a good match..

Unfortunately the killswitch only works with those systems that require minimum opening. So battle arms plunger type mods. Donít think itíll work with cross armory unless you modified their system a little bit

Why would you want a bolt hold open with the fixed mag setup? You have to close the bolt to release the mag anyway. That seems like an extra step. Granted you can't tell you're out of rounds without the bolt locking back but a trigger pull will pretty much tell you instantly that you're mag is empty.

Exactly which is why you can see my reloads are so fast because I shaved all my bolt catches on maglocked rifles

Here is a little torture test video of the KillSwitch for you. I certainly did a lot more than this video suggests but this was probably the most brutal.

Looks like we will be launching mid March guys so hang tight. Speedswitch should be launching around that time too

torture test looks good. cant wait to get my hands on one.

Do you have a list of mag locks that are compatible or you feel will be compatible? that would help people gear up for the transition or at least they can buy the compliant part now and add your component to their system.

AR maglock will have an arm. I think the 333 tactical works (not tested). Battle arms development Lowers with the plunger system should work. Off the top of my head most if not all of the systems that require minimal opening should work. You could in essence get it to work with other mag devices but that would probably require modification of the maglock device to fit in the small opening to release the mag

Just got the hellfighter installed.
Packaging was a bit more than needed-large box for a very small piece, but secure none the less.
Installation/adjustments were a cinch.
Once adjusted, this is phenomenal.
I’ve been a featureless AR guy for years but this bears it, bullet buttons, or anything I’ve ever used hands down without a doubt.
My SPR has a pistol grip, adjustable stock and a flash hider again all while being able to drop s mag and reload very quickly.
My god, where was this years and years ago?

Only concern is that it is a bit finicky removing the rear takedown pin. Very interested to see how protohyp’s compares.

Glad that worked out for you. As I mentioned before had I come up with this idea 10 years ago I would've been running it over the bullet button any day.

I don't know if you saw my torture test video but I ran that specifically because the JT pin has a channel running across the top of the thinnest part of the pin. we dont have that channel but I wanted to make sure that in the open position ours wouldn't bend or shear. Honestly I dont think people torture their rifles as much as I do but I wanted to make sure that when we launch that we should would be putting a superior product out there.
