Default IWB Mag carriers?

Unfortunately, I am having a rough time finding an IWB mag carrier that doesn’t hurt after extended wear. I suspect it has to do w/ the steel clips and using two mags. Any suggestions as to an IWB mag carrier that won’t hurt and I can preferably still carry two mags? Thanks!

First buy singles. This gives you flexibility and if you wear two, they will self adjust to conform to your body. Second, use leather. I do use kydex but only when I carry one mag and have a t-shirt between it and me. I use Milt Sparks IPS.

Another trick is to buy for a longer magazine. For example, I use an IPS cut for Glock 21 mags when I carry spare Glock 30 mags. The extra length allows me to push it in farther to reduce printing. Always request this even for kydex holders.

The method used to attach the holder to the belt is important. I almost always favor loops. The only exception is when the holder is angled 20-30 degrees outboard and carried in front. I have a Bravo Concealment holder that is canted 30 degrees and has a clip. It works well in the 2 o’clock position. I have yet to find metal clips that have worked well.

You will notice the Milt Sparks IPS will start to tilt outboard slightly in the pants as you go about your day. This assumes you are carrying them behind the hip. Let them. Keep the angle, unscrew the loop and apply a drop of blue Lock Tite. This will keep things positioned properly.

The cant outboard aids in concealment when combined with a shorter mag in a longer holder.

Your belt is important. Do not overtighten it. It must be a gun belt. I have tried many over the years, but Bigfoot Gun Belts steel core belts work best for me (14 oz leather, 1 1/2” wide...the 18 oz leather requires 1 3/4” loops). This creates a stable platform to hold the gun and both IPS holders in place. Overtightening this belt is self-correcting since you will feel it immediately. The thick leather combined with steel core exerts pressure on the body that becomes uncomfortable quickly.

I don't think that is the issue. A single mag carrier with cant adjustable clip is almost unnoticeable both for concealment and feel, I have hundreds of men and dozens of women carrying spare mags with them without complaint. the use of soft textured kydex helps, as well as location. You haven't said what kind of mag your trying to conceal. If your carrying high cap G17 mags, the answer and tailoring can be very different than a Shield or P238 mag. Weight and size plays a roll is providing the right answer. Are you slim or husky? Are you normally dressed casual or formal in a say a suit. Again this changes the answer.

dual mag carriers are a harder issue. Location of carry matters, but I working with my supplier and developing body bucks for molding has given us a dual mag pouch for a limited number of mags that has been very well received. We were six months in development and testing before finalizing our design. We may not have the twin mag in stock for your gun as we make these mostly to support plain cloths LEO carry and have keyed on guns they carry.

If you are in OC I recommend you visit the shop with a couple of spare mags and try them on. You can only really be sure when you feel them for yourself. We will also be at the Ontario and OC guns shows in March, and the California Gang Task Force meeting in April, if you accessed.

Dual mag carry I IWB has a number of moving pieces as far as comfort go. We use a single clip design to minimize bulk, but a fully kydex design for fight functionality. Well single mag holsters can be worn just about anywhere on the body at least our doubles are designed to be worn at 9 o'clock or 7 o'clock. They are tuckable so they can be worn with a business suit or a clean casual look.

Depending on the gun, those are easy to find, single or double. I sell wing clips that can be added to my custom dual IWB that let you use them as an OWB.

Depends if your trying to carry concealed with the mags OWB or just carry spare mags. Is the use defensive carry, or gun games such as IDPA, USPSA, etc.

Try out the crossbreed holsters seconds

Small blems or returned items... nice leather pouches that are decently comfortable.

Why seconds? Because you can sell them for about break even if you don’t like them

Key concern when buying an IWB mag holder is do you need it to be tuckable. Most aren't and if you wear your shirts tucked in obviously this is a concern. All should work for an untucked style. Assess your requirements, including if you want to be able to adjust the cant of the mag holster and tension on the mag.

I wear Crossbreed single mag pouch all day long. I like it better than the kydex only with clip directly on it as the wide leather spreads out pressure.
