Default AR-10 , 16" Suggestions

Disregard - I think the SIG 716 may be the best bet

I bought a new Armalite AR10 16" flattop upper with chrome-lined barrel for $600+ish + tax at recent SF Cow Palace gunshow.

Had to spend a few $$ more for sights - had a flattop receiver and Pic rail front sight/gas block.

This upper goes on my Armalate AR10 RAW lower to sometimes replace the 20" A2 upper

Armalite uppers do not really work on DPMS/Fulton etc lowers - nor vice versa. (Noveske N6, AeroPrecision, Aircraft Armament (limited production) all make Armalite-compatible lowers.)

So you should be able to build a $1100ish AR10 if you can get a receiver for a few hundred bux.

Thanks, Bill. Yea - I also forgot to mention that the Armalite pattern is preferred. I'll see if I can find an N6 lower somewhere.

I bought the Aero lower reciever and put the Armalite parts in it.
It got the Armalite 16"carbine upper.I really get along with it well.

no.. armalite is not. at least not when i was building my ar-10 (7.62x51).

i went with noveske instead. see if you can find aero precision. check 762sass if they have any instock.

this place also says they have it but i thought the .308 receiver is different from a 7.62x51 receiver

What high revs said.I could not remember where I got the Aero.It was 762sass.If they are out, usually only a couple weeks before they have them again. They sale all the Armalite stuff as well.

Smile AR-10

The orginal Armalite lowers are not legal in Cali. The new ones are. They changed the wording on them. And also make ones that accept DPMS/Stoner Magpul mags. The new Sig is not a light rifle,Nice though.Needs a muzzle break, because it kicks a little.
