Question Best place to buy AMMO to ship to San Francisco Bay Area

Looking for the best website to order Shotgun ammo.. many of them don't ship to CALI since the new laws changed... hoping someone has a good spot to recommend..

also what ammo and brand you recommend for Target practice for a Benelli M4..... looking for reliable but affordable rounds for shooting at the Range.

My M4 cycles these no problem, and ASW should be able to work with you to ship to a dealer, just send them an e-mail:
https://www.ammosupplywarehouse.com/...ducts_id=31019

I would recommend buying in multiples of two cases based on how they pack and ship, thatíll minimize your shipping cost (which isnít particularly cheap, but not as bad as some places.)

Also, if itís an indoor range, check to make sure theyíre okay with birdshot.

Work backwards

Do you already have an Ammo vendor near your home or office who will receive Ammo to transfer to you?

That vendor might already have some preferred vendors or know what vendors have already shipped customers ammo to them.

AmmoSeek will help you find Ammo in stock. You then need to see if they will ship to your local FFL or Ammo dealer

"somewhat"...

Hayward Big 5 has sold out of every gun in their racks except BB and their ammo shelves are growing cobwebs. They get ammo shipments in and it's gone before it can be shelved. Get there early, get in line, wait, & wait, & wait... Hope that when you get to the counter that they still have ammo at all. People are waiting in line with collapsible hand-trucks, so you know they're volume-buying.

My local range doesn't allow any shotgun because it destroys the target holders. They used to allow slugs, but not even those now. Sux. LOL

One of the funniest things on the internet is seeing someone go non-linear in response to a post by someone youíve met or know in person, and who you know meant nothing the response took from the post.

Relax, bud.

There is no such thing as 'affordable' during late panic buying. Use birdshot or slugs if you can obtain any, cheaper than 00 buckshot for your M4. However since odds are you are new, sign up for a shotgun class and see if they can provide any ammo with the price of the class. Or at least they can refer you to other ammo suppliers to purchase. Either way get more training ASAP. You can also ask your local FFLs if they can order any (expect insane delivery), or just be grateful you can get ANY ammo.

Gee, that's not too bad, even after shipping. Might have to get motivated and get my 003 and COE so I can order online. I have a pile of shells, but not a big enough pile to last me the rest of my life. I never expected Walmart to stop selling shotgun shells!

Yes. Just ordered Spolar Gold with the hydrolics system today for reloading as I have about 7 weeks worth of ammo left.

I suggest going to LGS first and buying 1-2 boxes of each type of shells in different combos of shot weight and powder charge to see what your gun with reliably cycle and how it patterns before making a bulk order

For practice I use #8 bird, 1145-1200fps ammo, 1-1.5oz shells, and #4 bird 1400fps for defense load (due to over penetration concern of 00 buck)

Buck and slugs have been hard for me to find for months in norcal but bird has been fairly easy to find

OP, not sure where in the Bay Area you are, but you can get target loads for 21 cents a round right now at Bass Pro with gift cards. Free ship to store in San Jose (or Manteca or Rocklin) I posted a thread on this in Deals section: https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1650563

Www.mackspw.com is also great for shotgun ammo, especially lead free shotshells.

Mack’s requires that your FFL email his license to them, then you call on the phone and place your order. They are very easy to work with, great prices, free shipping, great selection (which gets slimmer as opening day of duck season approaches).

Are you in CA?
The last couple of time I tried to order ammo they would not ship to anyone (including FFLs) in CA.

This is from their website.
We can no longer ship ammunition to California.

If you don't like the price don't buy it. If some one needs it, it's up to them to decide what they will pay.

I buy from them, their 12 ga target ammo is priced ok. 12 ga non toxic usually is also usually reasonable.

Those prices for target ammo are 25% over what basspro/cabela sells for, including the current deal ongoing another member posted about.

Iím just trying to signal to OP they can find a better price, even today, but you are right on, people need to make their own choices about how bad they need ammo and what they want to pay
