Default Villaraigosa next governor???

Just read an op ed on The Hill that Newsom and Villaraigosa are in a virtual tie in current polling and that because Villaraigosa has a larger hispanic base in So Cal that he will most likely be the next governor of California. Hispanic's are the largest population group in California. If they come together to support Villaraigosa he has a good chance to beat Newsom.

Interesting.

This will be one of those elections of "NONE OF THE ABOVE" would be a good selection. Having said that I dislike Newscum and would vote for the other rather than him.

I think that it would be interesting if Newsom lost. He would be out of California politics for 4 to 8 years. Any office other than governor would be a come down. I would bet that he was thinking that being the governor of California would be a stepping stone to the White House. It will be an interesting year to say the least.

Newsomw is a definite No --- I will wait before deciding on a write in.
There is still a possibility we can get just 1 republican to run in the primary.

If that's the PPIC poll, roughly a quarter of respondents were undecided.

Newsom still has more cash in the bank than all other candidates combined.

Villaraigosa is going for the old fish hook strategy (hitting the more conservative areas of the state for something that looks like a fish hook) in cobbling together enough votes to beat Newsom, which is smart because it's really his only shot.

The California Police Chiefs Association and the Peace Officers Research Association of California just signed on to Villaraigosa. http://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-...199697984.html

Newsome is a definite jerk-off, but I could not in good conscience vote for Villarag after I read an article where he was bragging about how Mexico was taking back California without firing a shot.

He ain't no American, and he doesn't belong in office.

A choice between Newsome and Villaragoso is literally a choice between a d-bag and a Sxxx sandwich.

But at least Villaroagso told the truth. This time anyway.

We're screwed with either one of them. I personally wouldn't piss on any one of them if they were on fire.

So vote for Travis Allen:

Art,

This week kicked off with over 1,200 activists from across California joining me on the steps of the State Capitol to rally and fight back against Jerry Brown and the Democrats who have run our state into the ground.

The crowd that rallied with us on Sunday is just a small number of the tens of thousands who have already signed up to be a part of this campaign.

Are you one of them?

We are the silent majority, Art -- but we can be silent no longer.

Please take a minute and a half to watch this brief video of our rally, and then just another minute to help us take back California!

Take Back California Rally

Thank you for fighting with me!

- Travis Allen

Why is everyone in a hurry to vote for the less evil Dem now? There's only a couple months left before the June primary, focus your energy on getting a Republican to make it now. You'll have from June til November to pick the less evil Dem if we can't get a Republican through the primary.

Plus there's more competition on the Dem side, that should better our chances of splitting their vote in June.

So you'll vote for Newsom?

I won't vote for a Democrat, period. Didn't when it came down to Kameltoe or Sanchez, won't cast a vote for either Newsom of 'Tony'.

You mean he'd have to get a real job for once in his life?

He is definitely looking at the governorship to advance to the White House, apparently he believes that his ultra liberalism will play outside of the California Bay Area and Los Angeles metro areas....he's wrong.

I definitely plan to vote in the primary for the leading repub candidate. In the 2014 governor election the unknown repub got 40% of the vote. If the repubs line up behind one candidate then we will have a repub on the November ballot. There are numerous dems running which will split the democratic vote with no dem getting even 30% of the vote. Just MHO.

I want to see his papers, probably illegal and therefore disqualified from office.

His statements regarding Mexico taking back California also disqualify him as a candidate. Some call it treason.

I think he was Tony Villa and when he married he added his wife's maiden name, Raigosa to his name.

While Mayor of LA he was exposed in an extra-marital affair and his wife dumped him.

....and I don't believe he ever passed the State Bar exam.

We're screwed either way but I'm voting for Villaraigosa, since Villaraigosa is merely anti-gun, Newscum is obsessed and insane with hate for guns.

Between these two turds, Newscum would probably petition the democrats to send him anything and everything and assure them he would sign everything no matter how unconstitutional it was, he would enjoy it and it would drag out in courts for years. So I'd rather that slick conman didn't make it to the Governorship. I suspect the other turd would not be as bad, maybe like Moonbeam, but that's still pretty bad.

We fight for the republican in this case to win of course.

If it's Allen vs Newsom, Newsom will win. No doubt about it. Hispanic vote would go to Newsom.

If it's Villaraigosa vs Newsom, Newsom has a chance of losing. Hispanics will not vote for Newsom, they'll vote for Villaragiosa.

I won’t vote Dem... I’ll vote for the guy/gal who is the most conservative

Tony Villar is pure politico, he won’t actually do anything while in office. Just big talk and photo ops.

No.

Cox needs to leave the race. His selfish perennial attempt to run for Governor for the 80th time is going to prevent a Republican that can actually win from even getting on the ballot.

Everyone should be calling Cox and urging him to drop out.

The only way we're going to get a Republican name on the ballot is if there's only one Republican name to pick from in the Primary election. Otherwise, this will be yet another "lesser of two weevils" election.

Allen is against out of control spending, he led the fight against the new gas tax. He's leading the fight against the high speed rail. He's leading the fight against the sanctuary policies. He's introduced bills this year for a part-time legislature, and for repealing the handgun roster. What is Cox doing, other than coxblocking Allen from having a chance? The choice is clear.

I don't see a Republican being elected to the governor's office in this state during my lifetime. With that, (If I'm still here) if it's between Villaraigosa and newscum, Villaraigosa has my vote. I want to see that smug look wiped off newscum's face. How much justice will that be? All the white liberals who have campaigned for the illegal aliens get voted out of office and replaced with Hispanic representation. I love it!

As was mentioned before, Villaraigosa is anti gun but newscum has a special hatred toward gun owners and the NRA. Neither can be trusted.

Given that choice I will still cast a ballot but leave those choices blank. That is my "none of the above are acceptable" vote.

I don't do write in's as that pulls the ballot off the count as provisional. Then it's only counted if it's very close or a recount.

Villar will be completely ineffectual and disinterested in making waves. Worse than Arnold, even. He reminds me of Paul Rudd's that character in Parks & Rec. Newsom is a legit psychopath with no regard for law-abiding citizens or their Constitutional rights.

It's just a discussion because...

because that "if" isn't an "if". The current standing is:

Gavin: 23%
Tony: 21%
Travis: 8%
Cox: 7%

Even if ALL the Cox and Travis voters agreed on one candidate, that one candidate would not come anywhere close to surviving the primary. The other Republican running is Doug Ose, at 3%, and even if you add Travis, Cox, and Ose together, they still don't come anywhere close to getting to the general election.

Yes I'm voting for Travis in the primary. In the general, I don't see much difference between Gavin and Tony. If Gavin wins, it will probably be the last time a white guy is governor of California. Whatever that means.

Even with the vote being split, Gavin and Tony are going to win the primary, by a huge margin.

Obviously I'll vote for Allen as well. But in a race between Tony villar and newscum: I would hope villar would win.

They're both awful, but villar is a complete idiot: his incompetence would end up hamstringing him and limiting some of the damage he's capable of. Newscum is horrible AND he's smart- he'll figure out the most effective way to screw us over and make sure it holds up.
