Default Let them HAVE California. Establish Jefferson

I would rather not continue to be out voted and ignored by people who don't live in Northern California.
We have lower crime and we consistently send Republicans to Washington, Southern california and the Bay Area pay the same welfare benefits and have higher rents so we are getting more than our share of lazy bums who don't work and homeless people.
California takes our taxes and then sends the money back with conditions attached that do not benefit the North State AT ALL.
The southern California water grab has just about made Salmon an extinct species in Northern California despite Jerry brown and his environmentalist minions. Only a few dozen showed up at Shasta Dam this year

Northern California needs to secede from California and become Jefferson

There is a proposed initiative to do something like that,

https://oag.ca.gov/system/files/init...rnias%29_1.pdf

"DIVISION OF CALIFORNIA INTO THREE STATES"

I guess you could offer to help collect signatures.

Sorry partner, I really feel ya, but the democratic have us by the balls and they love the numbers. I'm curious if it would matter, even if we break up to three different states, wouldn't they still all be blue?

At this point only armed conflict will free Ca and the U.S. from tyranny, so unless your willing to fight, shut up like everyone else on this site and watch the world burn.

I suggest anyone who thinks The State of Jefferson is a pipe dream just check out SOJ51.org
Its all about representation or lack there of for rural Californians. There is a Pending Lawsuit awaiting a ruling in Federal Court that will eventually end up in the Supreme Court. The law moves slow but rest assured the State Of Jefferson is a real possibility.

and you think it's a sure win? I wouldn't count on that. any court case is the roll of the dice it can go against you and set national precedent should it reach SCOTUS.

The legislature here will never ever approve secession.

i still laugh that you guys think that you are the only ones that have no representation. There are millions who are in the same boat. It's not just about you.

Because that worked so well last time.

Honestly, Iíd be a hell of a lot more in favor of the State of Jefferson if I wasnít living just below the proposed cut off and my husband working well behind enemy lines. It sucks, but itís the best we can do for our kids at the moment.

I agree it is a long shot but its a start. I have sympathy for all rural areas that are under represented. I also feel for my fellow state residence that live outside of this area of the State that are stuck with there anti gun liberal politicians but Maybe just maybe this will open there eyes and things will improve.

Fight them on several fronts. Push the statehood issue through the courts and keep at it until it is decided by the supreme court however look at the process that comes after that even if you win. It is a long road and a tough road. I would suggest withholding state taxes in counties, voting against or recalling anyone does not follow local wishes for a separate state, cooperate with the feds but not the state, and continue to file state lawsuits demanding that taxes be proportioned more evenly. Armed rebellion is a last resort but the politicians in Sacramento and the governor's office need to know it is a growing possibility each day as they try to force us to pay for a bullet train that will not benefit 99.9 % of us, taking water to southern california they have no right to from Northern california, forcing the Brown water tunnels down our throats, and spending all the highway funds down south including the new gas tax you just got stuck with. We are being discriminated against because we are northern californians regardless of race, creed, or anything else. but they get our guns and ability to bring ammo in and we are no better off than North Koreans.

What we really need is a state level electoral college system. LA and Bay area should not dictate what happens in the entire state.

2 things:

He never said "sure win", he said "real possibility".

It's not succession, it's a state split and we've split states in the past so there is precedent.

I would love to see Jefferson happen, but I don't see it as a reality.

A referendum up here in Lassen County on it actually got 41% of the vote, yet it failed mainly because of the teacher and correctional officer vote...State union workers who know what side of their bread is buttered.

your option is to start making state of Jefferson signs show up in other parts of california and have places where signatures can be gathered. People can live in other parts of California and still actively support the state of jefferson like a fifth column. Men and women of every race and creed need to come together to help establish the new state and then move there. There are hundreds of ways to harass the current government system and cost them money and more money. if the government starts seeing signs for the state of Jefferson popping up all over the state they will pay attention. And if you don't think brown won't go nuts when the signs start showing up in Los Angeles think again.

I agree that the topic is a pipe dream. Given my age I figured I would not live to see things improve. So I moved out of the state. You young bucks keep up the fight, this old guy packed his bags and slunk off into the night.

Great thought but itís never going to happen since a large percentage of the stateís natural resources come from areas part of Jefferson.
