Default Voting Absentee, Make sure it was counted

If you voted by mail in ballot make sure it was accepted.

We already had 3 members whos ballot wasn't.

Seems if the signature doesn't match it can get tossed.

Check on the Secretary of State website, and confirm it was accepted.

If it was not accepted, is there any way to challenge this? My signature when I got my DL and registered to vote does not look the same as my signature does today. It has evolved over time. Since hearing about the fact that they do handwriting comparisons I've been wondering if they've counted any of my votes, since I usually turn in my absentee ballot at the polls (since I've worked every major election and a number of smaller ones since 2010 and almost never have had an ability to go to my precinct and vote normally).

Safest bet if it shows up not accepted would be to go vote in person.

Interesting, I’m overseas and told my wife who to vote for on my ballot and signed it for me. They accepted it, guess her version of my signature is pretty close to the real deal. Sadly Bob Lindsey didn’t win, only vote I made that really mattered to me.

State website says they didn't receive my ballot. Do we have to send them by certified mail now, just so we can confirm they rejected ballots for illegal reasons?

My mail in ballot for the ‘16 election was rejected due to signature not matching what’s on record.

I just checked. It says my ballot was not accepted, no reason given. I am a permanent mail in voter and received my ballot in the mail. On the envelope it said I could either mail in my ballot or drop it off at a polling place. Because this was my first election (recently naturalized) I chose to drop it off at my designated polling station first thing in the morning. A polling person checked if my envelope was signed and then asked me to drop it into some cardboard box. I then grabbed an "I voted sticker", asked if that was it and left. I am pretty sure I filled out my ballot correctly, so it can't be the reason. Would there be a delay of a couple days till the information shows up? Needless to say I am pretty pissed off right now.

Sometimes it takes several days for Absentee Ballots that are turned in on election day to be counted. For those who turned them in at a ballot station, check again in a couple days and if your vote still hasn't been counted, contact your local County Elections Official.

Will do. I am registered as "party preference: Republican", my wife is "party preference: Democrat" (I know, I know... in her defense, she doesn't necessarily vote that way... and I am working on it, trust me), like me she is also a mail in voter but posted her ballot yesterday and hers was already counted. Makes you wonder. She didn't do a drop-off, but gave it to the mailman in the morning. Hmmm.

Edit: I found this https://voiceofoc.org/2018/06/one-th...ll-take-weeks/
"The largest estimated share of the ballots remaining to count is vote-by-mail ballots turned in at the polls (82,220), followed by vote-by-mail ballots (50,000), provisional ballots (45,500), and Election Day paper ballots (10,768)." so I guess this is normal.

Where did you pull this screenshot from? Mine only shows a 3 panel box with "statewide primary election" "accepted" and a date.

I'm in the exact same boat, identical situation. Went to the polling station to drop off my signed ballot. There was and older guy and a young kid who was scrolling on his phone. Older dude took my ballot, put it in the yellow bag, and said it would be delivered to the registrar by 8pm of the election day and I could confirm the delivery online. They didn't check my passport, my DL, or any kind of ID.. I was like wtf is this

Checking status today and I see the exact same thing: Accepted: NO Reason: N/A. I called the registrar at noon today and asked what was up. They said they are still counting ballots and it might take a couple of days for the status to update. Whatever that means.. It better be there by end of Fri, otherwise it's totally rigged BS

Mine wasn't counted, but it was my fault - I forgot to sign the damn envelope. I called the county & they said they'll send a letter for me to sign which then allows them to count it.

I stopped voting absentee several years ago for this reason. Have to do it in person if you want to be sure it's counted. I still encourage democrats to vote absentee though.

I'm still showing:
Quote:
For this election, you voted by mail.

Date ballot was received
County LOS ANGELES
Ballot accepted NO
Reason not accepted N/A
But... I did find these links on the SOS site about "Estimated Unprocessed Ballots" which was last updated yesterday, 6/7/18 at 4:46PM.
http://elections.cdn.sos.ca.gov/stat...ots-report.pdf
https://vote.sos.ca.gov/unprocessed-ballots-status

There are still half a million ballots pending for LA county and 2.6 million ballots pending for CA pending as of latest update.

State law requires final results to be reported by July 6, 2018 so could be a month to update vote status?

Think about it , if these shenanigans hold, and conservatives tend to want to vote by mail/ absentee, whose vote is really not counted?

Idk, but I always take the 10mins to go in and vote in person

Dropped off mail-in ballot at polling place, morning of voting day. I asked specifically if this vote would be counted today? Was told by election officials that it "would be counted today - the same as if I were voting at the booth."

My vote doesn't show as received or counted as of the date and time of this posting.
